I haven't been there, but I have had his BBQ at Memphis in May. He's won that event quite a few times including this past May.

He's got an Alabama white BBQ sauce—horseradish and cayenne pepper based for spice—that's great on chicken...I've used it on roast beef as well.

Google it...'prolly takes 10-12 minutes to put together.

Jacks Old South in Unadilla, Ga. isn't there anymore. We stopped by there back in June on our way back from Florida and and the place was closed and looked like it had been closed for a while. After reading and trying to figure out why someone who boast about having the best BBQ like Myron does would actually have to or want to close his restaurant down. I find out he's shut both locations down and just operates his online store selling BBQ equipment and smokers and does classes. So who knows if Jack's Old South BBQ is actually any good. :lol:

Big Bob's white sauce is good on white meat in general. They have a Turkey baked potato that you could make about 3 meals off of. That white sauce on that loaded potato is awesome!

Mike learned how to cook Barbecue in North Carolina. Then he came up with his own sauce. It is a vinegar base sauce.
He also has a white sauce for chicken. I love his turnip greens. He has the vinegar base sauce in the greens.
Saw's is just a hole in the wall place on Oxmoor. If you go there, get there early! It fills up quick.

I really like Dreamland. One of the best bbq I have ever had was in a little shack in deep south Louisiana that was cooked by a black guy that I am certain cooked bbq at the last supper. Was so good make ya tongue slap your face

If you are ever in northwest Alabama, Florence, in particular, be sure to ask directions to Bunyan's BBQ on west Alabama St. Great stuff!

Bunyan's is pretty delicious, and you can never go wrong with Dreamland, especially the original.

I've been to Big Bob Gibson's in Decatur and I was really disappointed.

My favorite BBQ is Sonny's BBQ in Oxford,Alabama. Ruby Tuesday and Applebee's have good ribs. I'd go to any of those three places over Bob Gibson's.

Sorry to hear someone has not liked Big Bob Gibson's, but for those that have not been (weird to me, but I lived pretty close to it) I would say go to the one on 6th Ave. in Decatur. The pork potato is my favorite.

Oh and don't forget a piece of coconut pie.
