I think you should look at the entire season as well. What things has the team and staff overcome? The sheer longevity of Saban and this run should have him an automatic nomination as a finalist each year!! What Frost did was outstanding but prove you can do it consistently! Saban graduates his kids, they stay out of trouble, the Work he does outside of Football as well should be considered.

I do think it's strange he isn't even nominated. Even with the Barn loss, he still had one of the best records in the league, with a banged up team, against one of the toughest conferences. And the nominees came out BEFORE the playoffs, where his mettle as a coach was truly proven IMO (Clemson revenge, comeback/risk-taking vs. UGA).

Saban does a LOT outside of the field but perhaps the committee (whoever they are) is trying to bring more parity into the selection process? Who knows. Saban definitely should have been at least nominated this year.
