That sure was a cold cold night. I was only 12 at the time, but I remember that night vividly.

I'm not sure which was colder. That night, or the Alabama vs Auburn game in 2000. That Saturday was so freakin' cold I left at halftime and decided to watch the game at home.

I like Beamer in a lot of ways. a pretty good guy. He certainly has good football teams. But he also has his downfalls.

He seems to have a lack of team discipline and it shows if his teams get down. They turn on each other and have a hard time fighting back. Although they say they bring a "lunch-pale" mentality, I think they feed off emotion WAY too much, tending to get too high or too low denpending on the momentum of the game........I think when we get up on them, it will further weaken their confience allowing us to turn it on even more and VT players will probably turn on each other.

I look for us to have a BIG game against them and I would put money on it! Look for another Clemson sort of score...31-13 ( to be honest, if VT scores more than 13 I will be shocked)
When LSU played them it was 48-7........Top tier SEC talent will do wonders for an attitude adjustment.

most miserable = Aub 2000

it was cold enough for actual sleet/ snow the entire Music City Bowl. The 2000 AUb game it turned to rain a few times thus getting you wet!!!!


DuBose was utterly unprepared for Va Tech. I remember him having John David Phillips as the up man on punts becuase he was "a senior and deserved to be playing"! We had a few punts blocked that night of course too.:lance:

I had moved to Virginia in mid 98. I was so ready to watch the Bama/VT game and went to Hooters to watch it. I hated that game as there were so many VT fans around. I have wanted the teams to play again since then and boy do I hope to give it to them this time! :fight:

But, I can't say the MSB was colder...after all, night time to day time and I was freakin' freezin' that day in T-town.

IF VT falls behind, by like 14, and has Taylor starts pushing hard with no success. Thats it. VT is not an old enought team to rally and come back.
