You have to admit - between Saban and Oats, I can't think of two HCs who hate(d) taking timeouts more than them. Almost as if there's some sort of incentive in their contract.

As a coach, especially on the basketball side, I can see where sometimes you want the guys to “figure it out” on their own because a timeout later in the game could be of even greater value or importance.
As for football, Saban’s willingness to keep timeouts in his pocket and go to the locker room always irked me. As an offensive guy, I always wanted a chance to put points on the board before half and really flip or keep momentum on my side. I do like that aggressiveness in DeBoer.
