🏀 GAME THREAD 🏀 SEC / NCAA Games of the Week: -- Dec. 13th thru Dec 19th.

I don't have a clue about this game. None. But when I saw Boogie trending this morning...

Fland has been rough. Didn't expect that under Golden. They subbed him out and UF went on a 9-0 run. Subbed him back in and UConn mounted a comeback and took control of the game.

Florida's still going to be a huge problem this season in the SEC. They looked really good at Duke and vs UConn.

Only one in + numbers. 1-1 A / TO.

I hate the +/- sometimes. Never tells the full story. Bristow was -7 vs Illinois, yet was consistently making play after play to help Alabama secure the win.
I was looking for A/TO and MIN ... just noticed that. It's one of those things you have to take in context.

The last minute of play is an interesting read. I may look that up later.

My bad. Misread your post. Yeah that is wild and not what you want to see out of your starting PG. I will say, UConn defended Florida's cuts better than anyone I've seen against them. Fland lacks the toughness, the alpha mentality, and creativity of Walter Clayton Jr. But he did miss a good chunk of last season and is getting accustomed to this system. Still think he has a ton of upside.

Just a heads up:
And this would turn A LOT heads.

7:30 ET on ESPN. Indiana is at Rupp. If Kentucky drops this game? They leave their non-conference season without a win over a major program.

It's been my impression thus far that the SEC is down as a whole this season. I think that can be said about D1 as a whole with the exception of two dozen or so teams. (Yes, I consider Bama to be one of those: a realistic contender.)

About Kentucky though...

If the above scenario is true—UK loses and the SEC is down as a whole—that means that Kentucky is middle of the pack, or worse, in the conference. Kentucky.

Are we going to be talking about basketball hot seats in January?

I would say he's already there after their performance vs Gonzaga at Bridgestone. First time I've seen a home crowd furiously boo their team in basketball. Like Alabama in football, UK is a pressure cooker of a job. If you don’t perform well, you're going to feel the heat. He's had some good wins (Duke, Florida, and TN last season), but I feel they'll reflect heavily on the losses he's had. Losing to Calapari at Rupp last season had to hurt. Now his seat is getting warm, despite coming off a S16 appearance - their first in SIX years.

Speaking of S16, have you seen his contract? One-year extensions for at least making the S16. He did it in year one.

As for this - I agree. Aside from UK, who would you say is the most disappointing team right now? Mine is definitely Ole Miss. Coming into the season, I definitely thought Beard had a respectable roster to build off of last season's run and make a run for the SEC Regular season. Now they're 5-4 with only NC State left as a marquee OOC game.
