The matchup features four players that were named to the Naismith Preseason Player of the Year Watch List in Alabama's Labaron Philon Jr. and St. John's trio of Zuby Ejiofor, Bryce Hopkins and Ian Jackson.

Great game!! And the team was having fun and trusting each other. I like the team chemistry.

Would this be the biggest Bama has had? With Coach Oats?

I don't think so. On the road at Houston back in '23 was monumental. That game was a war.

Also Gonzaga in Seattle. But this is a top 3 OOC win for me.

Turnovers were reasonable.

I think at one point, Alabama had only 4 turnovers to Saint John's 8. Wrightsell, Holloway, and Philon are the exact type of elite guards you need to make a title run.

Mallette and Allen had a great game too. Both were so freaking active closing out blocks and creating second chance opportunities. Gonna love to rewatch this game because Allen had incredible on-ball D.

Alabama's got a damn good team. Ton of depth in the backcourt with a lot more length.
