We don't have a rich booster that can just offer blank checks.

I disagree. There are plenty of people out there with money. We can't keep using that as an excuse. It's Byrne and his staff's job to get these people to help and offer them something in return to make it worth it. Heard someone on here say Bear Bryant's son/grandson is a billionaire, so how can we say we don't have people with money?

I thought Yea Alabama was going to offer game used memorabilia, autograph opportunities and things alike to help bring in money. I haven't seen ANYTHING to support that yet. They sold some jerseys from the basketball team last year, Captain cleats from this past football season, and that Auburn shirt thrown at Oats. That is all I have seen. I feel it is underwhelming. They need to set a new expectation with Nike that provides the team with more uniforms that they can sell, with nameplates attached, to assist in growing NIL. Too many opportunities to fall flat and say we don't have money. No, we just haven't offered a proper package to boosters and fans yet.

You are correct, and I unfortunately feel UA still has the same mundane passive people working in its marketing department that it did when I was in school. There is not a single creative bone in anyone's mind working there, yet per usual, come to fans like beggars on the streets asking for money.

I think Ohio State is who I saw that has been pretty aggressive in creating third-party NIL deals and collectives.

They did a great job with the basketball team two years ago where they let people come in and get autographs from the players. pretty much like they do with football, but it was a much smaller crowd, so I was hoping for that last year, but after that Final 4 run it seems they have stopped everything like that with basketball.

The programs seem too far to reach at this point as a fan. You either gotta be a Bryant Society member or just connected it seems.

Bottom line ... I don't know if you wanted Holt on the team for next year. I don't think we missed on him.... Like I said the signs were there when he left Buckhorn.... Transferred twice after that.

Dang. Missed him and Dybantsa last year. Couple of guys that would be instant difference makers. We’ll land one of these big fish sooner or later. Seems like most players fall into the category of one-and-done, either going to the Association or to another “school” after a season, so I don’t see as much downside to bringing in a player that you know will be going to the draft after one season.
