🏀 🏀 Alabama vs Robert Morris : Bama advances with 90-81 win.

Win and advance. Wasn't pretty in a few ways, but I'll take it.

A few numbers that stood out at first glance...

-Bama had 25 assists (Sears had 10).

-Bama shot 59% from the floor to their 42%, but RMU got 20 more shots up (78 to 58).

-Bama had 56 points in the paint. They had 50. Both teams lit it up around the goal.

-On that point, Bama was 11 for 11 on dunks. Big day for Cliff O.

-1.233 PPP for Bama... 1.095 for them.

-Bama only missed more than 2 FG's in a row once, when they missed 3.

-Dioubate led Bama with 10 rebounds, 9 of which were in the 2nd half. He also led the team in +/- at +10.

-Philon played 27 minutes, had just 1 point, 1 rebound, and 1 steal. Did have 8 assists and 0 turnovers though.

Philon shows just a effortless ability to get downhill and beat the D with a dribble drive and facilitate. Sears absolutely had some great lobs to Cliff, but I this team moves the ball way better with Philon at point..

Alabama took advantage of their size for sure but that was it. Robert Morris had way more fight in this game and could have easily won. I don't know if these guys will ever turn their intensity up if they didn't today. The lack of fight was pretty frustrating.

I think Alabama took the challenge really well to start the game. Came out and held RM to 18%. They took a timeout and really never looked bad on offense other than a few possessions. Defense just has got to lock the fuck in. And allowing so many 2nd chance opportunities to an undersized team is inexcusable. You gotta have that dawg in you every possession, regardless of the opponent.

But win and advance. We went from like 2006 to 2016 without a win in the tournament. Now we're here one game away from our fourth S16 appearance in five years.

Cliff does look a lot more polished on offense.
