📝 🏀 2024 Recruiting class / updates.

“Several sources have told me the schools with the best chances of landing him are BYU or Alabama. I would still say BYU is the favorite as of today, but that gap is tightening. The Crimson Tide are a real contender.”

Quote from Tipton on AJ Dybnsta as we enter the final phase of his recruitment. IT is believed he will commit and sign in December far moved up from his previous timeline which was Feb.

I wonder if it was the money or the allure of the honor code that BYU offers?
Dybansta committing to BYU tomorrow.
Damn, 321, you had me excited about this guy heading to the Capstone.
Pump the brakes a bit here, he's been crystal balled to us by other insiders today. All information still says this thing is a coinflip at this moment.

One thing I'll point to is what AJ and his father have been saying in interviews lately that weren't in previous interviews with them.

They don't care about NIL (The big BYU draw is NIL outside of Home State). They want a place he can surefire be turned into a pro-ready prospect. BYU hasn't produced a pro in a while. They want great relationships, both have that in spades. BYU has that with the in-state and having been around the family but Preston Murphy is like a blood relative to the kid.

I still am very adamant we're about to sign the best player in basketball from the things I've gathered from the intel and his recent mannerisms/interview answers. IT is recruiting though and we can never be 100% sure anywhere.

Just for NIL context he lives in a state that lets players make NIL during their Highschool careers at this point he's already made well in excess of $5m this year from some big corporate sponsors. Stands to reason he will do the same next year wherever he goes, so the money difference between BYU and Bama doesn't really matter to him. He's making $4m from Nike, not sure what Powerade offered him per year.

Also to add to all this, one thing @TerryP and @Brandon Van de Graaff and I have chatted about with Football recruits that holds true across the landscape is that if you follow the kids instagrams, snapchats, and all those things. The people they are tagging, adding as friends, and all that are big indicators. He recently had a highlight play and he tagged the BYU team and coach. He tagged everyone at Bama, including the players...just saying you don't go out of your way to do that unless you're already buying in to the team.

You nailed it.

You could've let it ride it out and give us opportunity to clown some of posters tomrorow if he signs with Alabama :)
