🏀 🏀 2024-25 Season- {NCAA / SEC Games of the Week} -

It's a bad call because of who called it; not what was called.

That's the trail calling the foul. That's the lead's responsibility; center, maybe.
I received several technical fouls during my time as a basketball coach because I always pointed out who was supposed to be responsible for what area. They would T me up and then I would explain to them that my dad was a basketball official and that I learned to read by reading rule books, not Dick and Jane. Used to piss them off that I was right!!

From his position, you can see the block. He was watching lateral movement. I get the call.

I would be pissed off.

I once had an official call a foul from half court on one of my guys that blocked a shot on the baseline no more than 4 feet from the lead official. I came unglued!!! When he came to the table, I asked him how he could make that call out from under his partner like that and that with 30 seconds to go in the game and us losing big, why didn’t he just swallow the whistle. He T’d me up and then gave me another when I told him that his fat ass had been out of position since the opening tip. He warned me first before the second T. He didn’t like my comment I guess when I said, what difference was 4 more free throws going to make. Give me another so I can go home.

ON another note...St. John's and assists today are a thing of beauty. And I'm looking at the box.

"Who raised you?" No. That's not a nod to Raising Arizona.

At some point a 'Zona fan decided it would be a good idea to yell, "Fuck the Mormons" after the call. I gotta ask; who gave them the theought "that's a good idea!?"

Screaming profanities about one's religious beliefs versus throwing a can on the court...hrmm, the dilemma.

Usually morning routine consist of one cup of coffee, the gym, then cleaning the house, and cooking. Doing loaded shrimp and grits with conecuh sausage. Basketball on in the background.

Wish I took pictures. Turned out really well.

Cubed the conecuh, browned it and removed. Sautéed onion, bell peppers, and mushrooms. Added the shrimp to absorb some of the grease. Threw down heavy cream and reduced for 20 minutes. Added seasoning and parmesan cheese to create a good sauce. Grits were boiled chicken broth, which was reduced and covered. Added chives for garnish.

Think next time I'll ass the shrimp separately though.

Having leftovers after the gym today. Going to add some smoked cheddar on top and bake it.

...because of the texture?

Flavor? Am I doing something wrong here? I don't like adding boiled shrimp to my grits with just the seasoning. Cooking it in some grease and removing it adds a lot of flavor to the grits when you add it back on top.

***Edit My apologies. I forgot I added that last part about cooking it separately and you pointed it out. My apologies. Let me clarify. I never removed the shrimp and let it cook more in the heavy cream. It reduced its size too much. Made a mistake IMO. Next time I will cook it 1-2 minutes tops in the grease and add it back.

I can't answer that.

I always have made a roux when I make shrimp and grits. I asked about the texture based on when you put it in...seems like it would get "rubbery" leaving in that long.

The last roux I made for the flavor was sausage, bacon, garlic, bell pepper, and a sweet onion...REAL butter.
