Bama had 3 different players removed because of injuries... Fowler (hit by pitch in helmet, didn't appear to be too serious), Osterhouse (hopefully just a leg cramp and nothing worse), and reliever Kaden Humphrey (arm issue after 2 pitches which is concerning). Hagan Banks worked the 2 inning save, navigating through trouble in the 9th. Brady Neal led Bama at the plate with a 2-3 night (plus a walk), including a 2 run HR in the 1st.

Next up, Bama travels to play Alabama State on the road tomorrow night...

OT kinda but it sucks seeing auburn play at such a high level now. They nailed the Butch Thompson hire.

A decent potion of auburn fans want him gone. Those fans are dumb, but goes to show that they too have unrealistic expectations in baseball. As for this season... IMO, auburn is better than Bama (most everyone in the SEC will be), but I'm not sold (yet) on them being a top 10 team. In fairness, I've only seen parts of the their games here and there.

But, Bama is up 9-0, B6.

Well, they took care of business over a shitty team... won it 13-4... marginally better than their very uninspired 2-1 win over this same Alabama St. team at home a couple weeks ago... But this Bama team just doesn't give off many good vibes. Also? UA left 19 on base tonight. NINETEEN. Against Alabama St. That's impossible to do if you try.

They have 1 more cupcake series this weekend against North Florida and then things get real. Honestly, I'm not sure they're up for it.

3 more errors tonight, 2 more by Lebron (he has 6 errors in his last 6 games). Pretty sure Bama leads the SEC in errors now. I guess it fits since they also have the league's worst team batting average and team ERA. Only a matter of games before they pass Arkansas to be dead last in K rate. To put it lightly, SEC play hasn't even started yet, and this team is taking on lots of water. Now, they can get it in gear and turn some things around, but thus far, they just haven't really showed they are really capable. Maybe a return from Davenport and/or Christiansen will spark the lineup. Maybe the arms will settle in with the warmer weather. Maybe the fielding issues are about to be out of their system. But that's a lot of maybe's. This is as down on the squad as I've been in several years at this point in the season.. and I really hope they turn it around. But they need to give me a reason(s) to be confident. Soon.
