⚾ 🥎 ⚾ #6- Georgia vs #23- Alabama: Tide wins two on Sunday to win the series, 2-1

How in the hell do you give up 19 fucking runs in a baseball game as a D1 SEC program? How do you allow 8 in one inning of a massive SEC year end series when post season hosting is on the line?

In this case, a lot of walks, a bad error, some bad positioning that led to a key hit, and then a questionable decision to bring in Heiberger, who is more of a late inning or matchup guy against a team like UGA, not a long reliever, and he got bombed (gave up his only 2 HR's of the season). The guys after him were white flag relievers from the pen. This isn't me making excuses for any of it, it was BAD. Just explaining how it happened.

The positive side, even though there's still a lot of outs to get, they appeared to have flushed it well for game 2. I'll be surprised if they resume tonight because of the rain (I left and came home). But for now, Bama leads 6-2, T5. UGA has a guy on 3rd and 1 out when play resumes.

It's baseball in college. UofSC gave up 22 the other night.

Hell, in that series between AU and UofSC, AU outscored them 46 - 15

Seems like as good of a place as any... @Brandon Van de Graaff

I understand it can happen, but how do you let it happen? 8 runs in one inning is miserable in youth baseball, much less high level ball.

We gave up 11 one inning in 11U ball and it felt like an absolute eternity, but we were also three games into bracket play in one day, fifth game of the weekend with no pitching left, not the first game of the damn weekend of a pivotal series

I’d have thrown over on a pick and had the 1 st baseman slap tag him 1 good time. Then the next pick would be in his ribs.
That’s not enough to injure or really hurt him, but he’d get the message.
If he kept on while he’s on the bases, that’d be a long inning of him getting picked and “tagged” until the officials stopped me.

I'm almost with you there. But, when I'm 2-1 and see that the fourth time? It's a slider that I'm starting inside..

Perhaps Bama baseball can take a page out of UofSC softball's book. Lose the first game 13-1, and then take the next two. Need I mention what team that was against?

@Brandon Van de Graaff they going to be able to get these games in? Looks like it's still raining

Can confirm. I just got home, had to drive down to Thomasville and back this am on hardly any sleep… rained the entire damn way. I’m about to nap like a toddler and maybe when I wake up in a couple hours the sun will be out.
