🏈 Bama's Longest Field Goals

Interesting is that you have a father and son duo. Both All-Americans, so about as similar as one can hope for in comparison.

Now note that Van kicked off a tee while his son and virtually all the rest kicked off the ground.

I wonder where there records would be if the tee remained. If we assume that the tee aids them significantly, which these numbers imply, then that no-tee rule change could have altered (or actually maintained) the nature of the field goal and its impact on the game.

I know its not easy to measure such things, but my feeling is that of all these kickers Doyle had the strongest leg. I felt like he could have nailed them from 60 with a tee.

Of course Van Tiffin's kick against the ban in 84 was hit about as good as a kicker could hit one. If you go back and look at the video you'd see it would have been good from ten yards further out. Tee or not, that was an amazing kick.

yeah i mean that whole list is on by the Tiffins. another great alabama tradition.
I hope Liegh gets busy making some babies pretty quick. lol Bama needs another wonder kicker.

Couldn't we just genetically clone Van and suit him up for this year?
Cuase lets be honest....the 2 kids we got kickn & punting now.....well let's just say i'm a little worried in that area.
I'm not saying.....i'm just sayin. ya know?
