It was a great experience once again. I sometimes pinch myself in the middle of the flight just to make sure it's really happening. It's just so funny to see these men and boys on TV or hear them in interviews, and then to have them there right in front of you....wow! Then you realize they're just kids and regular men and no big deal. But then you remember they're freaking Alabama and it's....just funny.
I don't know if any of you saw the very beginning of the broadcast where they showed the arrival of the team on the Delta airplane. Then they show Chapman and Hightower deplaning. I was literally right on the other side of Hightower just inside the airplane. My kids asked me next time to stick my head out as they leave the airplane. Sure the team would love
that.
I don't know how seat assignments are done but only 3 defensive guys were up front. I don't think it's something I'm not supposed to share, but I'll let you guess just in case. I'll give you a hint and let you know 2 are seniors and one is quite possibly the very most important ingredient in our secondary. Tough one there, right?
There was a player that got sick (1st for me). The staff treated it pretty low key and didn't seem worried. I was. I was glad to see this player on the field and playing Sat. I can't go into details, but it wasn't like a cold or vomiting. I can tell you it wasn't a player that has had any kind of prior medical situation from what I know as a fan.
There was a freshman "situation" in the back of the airplane that I'll tell you I was not impressed with. I wasn't back there, but my fa's let me know it wasn't cool. It settled down, so further action wasn't necessary. I don't know the freshman just yet (except for big recruits), but I will keep a watch on this particular one. I think I know how they're taught to behave to us and to ONE ANOTHER as teammates, and this guy wasn't doing either.
