🏀 Bama vs Gonzaga on the court?

Saw this on the rant regarding Coleman upgrade

So take it for what it is worth.......someone who knows things and only talks when he's 100% sure of things (mostly having to do with board of trustee decisions) says that the entire thinking around Coleman has changed.

New plan is
  • leave Coleman as is along with the practice facilities, offices and it will be used by gymnastics, practice, events, etc
  • build a new arena elsewhere on campus - 2 locations in mind (did not say what those are)
  • should hear more in the next month or two

Who knows how definitive this is, but it wouldn't have been said unless it was truly being discussed.

That would be awesome

what i sent AD. But i am sure took more than a fan saying such

its the smart thing. Move bama bball to the next level
Coleman be great for gymnastics and women's bball

The perfect world scenario was always a new build, but the obstacles were many... money, where to put it, construction costs on the rise (an issue regardless), etc... But a new build also solves some issues as well... more flexibility in design and layout, would allow games to be played on campus during construction, a better location for traffic purposes, etc. Folks have worked hard to try and help with the funding. UA is lucky to have real estate to make it feasible to build on campus. There is a spot near the softball field (currently parking lots) that I think would be great, but it would likely require a parking deck being built as well.

At this point, I'm cool with whatever as long as it's done right (and I think it will be under Byrne).

i have heard the word "obstacles." all my life...
And have come to the conclusion.... life is full of them....
But those with vision....take an obstacle as just another challenge .... not a road block
