First... y'all know me! I'm more than a little concerned about this game. I'm pretty sure we'll pull it out but might struggle a big early. I don't think it will be games like USC or Michigan, I think the end result will be a little closer.

^ That's good to hear from someone who has seen the team in action.

I really think everyone will like the defense and be just as pleased with the offense. The 1st and 2nd D made it rough on our QBs Saturday. Lewis, Allen, Miller, Evans, all bringing heat from the edge. Our DBs seemed to be in phase better and know what was going on at all times. DL won't be getting blown off the ball. It will be hard to run the ball on this group. I saw more passes to our RBs on swing passes and stick routes than what I saw the last 3 years combined. N. Harris and B. Robinson caught the ball extremely well from the backfield. Irv Smith at TE/H-Back like OJ is a weapon. M. Forristall is a receiving threat as well. I saw passes thrown to these guys as well. Add our weapons at WR and then a healthy Bo and J. Jacobs and a 1,000+ yard rusher in D. Harris, Possibilities Man!!!

So you see Alabama covering?

I don't see how anyone can make a reasonable prediction on this game. Two quality teams with a lot of unknowns.

Very few teams can handle our team's athleticism for four quarters. Our three deep can start anywhere in the country most likely and in my opinion no other team in the country can offer that. Sure, Florida State has tremendous talent, but can their 1's compete with our 1's, 2's, and 3's with very little room for error and no breaks? Can we be beat? Of course we can, but it literally takes one of two things; a VERY special quarterback that is nearly perfect, or just a total breakdown by our own team. Those two things rarwly happen, so I am confident in our boys. We have vetetens in key positions on defense, and some great experience on offense. I think the start of the game will be slow due to adrenaline, but I think we win by 10, atleast.

I hate to say it but I think we just have too many holes to fill and we are young in bad places to be young. Our offensive line is very suspect and we have just assumed that Jonah has made a seem less transition to the other side.. it is very different. We struggled at right guard and we have a first year right tackle. Our QB still hasn't shown he can throw the ball versus a live team and he will be going against the most talented group of db's we will see all year.. In the first game of the year.

We have a true freshman long snapper, a true freshman holder and most likely a true freshman kicker... That right there will probably cost us a game somewhere down the line.

We have lost 10 starters and all Americans off of our front 7 in the past two years.. We have talent but we don't know how they will react to being" the guy" not just someone who comes in for two plays here or there. Sometimes "pressure busts pipes"

FSU gets to play the fired up underdog roll for a change and really has nothing to lose. If we win they may not even drop a position in the ranks so they can let it all hang out.

I just think this sets up bad for us

28 - 27 Florida State. We mishandled a snap on a 42 yard game winning field goal.

OL has looked improved. Lester Cotto running at the RG spot seems to have gotten his head out of his arse and woken up. Womack looked shaky at RT on a few stunts but Wills came in and filled in nicely! Jonah is more than holding his on at the LT spot. Saturday, I saw Jalen do some things that I begged for him to do last year. Step up into the pocket and throw, and throw it away when nothing was there, don't take a sack.

True freshman snapper and holder, true. As far as the kicker goes, it looks like JK on the long kicks and Pappanostos on the shorter ones until Buolovas gets over his nerves.

Defensively, we have always played a lot of guys. It was more determined by the set we saw from our opponent. 3-4 or 4-2-5 set or even dime. SDH is back and moving well, even with the brace. Evans got a lot of reps in his absence and right now, they are together.

No way they won't drop after their loss!

Someone said it earlier, it is just too difficult to predict a score on the opening game of the season. We are the more talented team top to bottom, we have more quality depth and we are much more accustomed to playing such games as these for an opener. That being said, Jimbo will have his guys ready to play and they have some good talent as well. I guess with my Crimson glasses on I just don't see us losing unless we commit multiple turnovers or something along those lines but as for a score........beats me.

I hope you are right. I want the good guys to blow them out but the common sense side of me says all of these early departures and freshman stepping up has to catch up with us sometime.

Roll Tide!!

Every year it the same thing from the same one about the same thing. But right after the first snap of the ball that is all over. Bad or good stay behind those glasses!! Coach Saban and his Coaches know what going on with these guys. I know right now Bama is going to win the game, I just don't know buy how much. So I'm going to wait. @Destiny's Child I hope you will chance your mind before the game start next Saturday night.. I always enjoy reading your post sometime I may not like them.

Always a bama fan. Always pull for my guys to win. I am one of those that has been around a while and you never know how a new starter will react. D Hand has played allot of football but he hasn't ever had to be "the guy" neither have allot of these guys. Now Saban normally recruits high character kids so I hope they thrive in that but you never know. I spend a bunch of time around football and I can tell you the long snap for punts and field goals aren't a guarantee and we will have guys playing for the first time in front of 100k in a neutral site doing it, a holder catching it for the first time and a new kicker.

I love Hurts and he is my QB this year but his inability to throw the ball really hurt us last year and against a very experienced and talented defensive backfield his new found passing confidence will be tested. He showed a ton of guts bringing us back against Clemson and showed his character but he will have to be better at passing for us to have the success we want.

That is my reasoning. FSU fired up as underdogs and very experienced group. And us replacing so much, Jalen's being tested under the ultimate fire, new team leadership at almost every position group.. it just makes me think that we may slip up make a miss timed mistake and suffer an early loss.

That being said I think we have oodles and oodles of talent and as they get experience we are going to be nasty. I think even if we slip up we make it to the playoffs and have another chance at a Natty.

Alabama 38 vs Florida State 17

The second half is going to turn into a LOS game. Sooner or later that offensive line of the Seminoles will give up big sacks and some timely and deadly turnovers.

There are quite a few "unkowns" from coaching changes to less-experienced players.
I don't see the FSU OL getting that much better in the off-season. Hopefully, the young guns on our DL and LB positions are hungrier than ever.
My feeling on this game is that it will be a hard-fought win. 28-21.
