that houndstooth jersey we played in a few years ago was awesome, my favorite jersey to wear by far.

Perhaps not psycho, but I'm pretty disappointed we can't get a jersey contract without wearing a crap jersey. The workout jerseys are even worse:

Agreed. It was a nice subtle touch. Not too over the top. I really liked that jersey.
These two new ones I'm not too sure about. I HATE the home one but I'd be aight with the away one.

Those two pictures are fakes that have been floating around. Another site posted the link to the template to use in creating your own. And another guy posted the first one and aksed everyone what they thought.

So calm down and dont start calling Mal Moore demanding an explantion just yet. lol

I just don't see BAMA as one of those teams who's uniforms can be changed for the better, at least is a drastic fashion. Changing a uniform is one thing. Doing away with an ICON is another. BAMA's unis are ICONIC.

Give me better looking Crimson on the Crimson helmet with a white stripe. Maybe a wider White stripe.
Make the Crimson jerseys shinier, or give it a touch of Houndstooth, but just a touch.
Keep the pants clean and simple. Two stripes is a must.
If there is one change that I could get behind, it would be to remove the names from the jerseys. You old timers know what I'm talking about.

Yeah those pics are user created and have just been floating around, the actual one hasn't been revealed. That being said, the undershirt thing with the home jersey looks sick. And the white helmet on crimson jersey would be a nice alternative, especially since we can't seem to find a way to make the two crimsons match anyway! Ugh that drives me insane

Really? :lance: One loss. I survived the Dubose and Shula eras (not to mention Perkins). Its gonna take much more than one loss. Have we really gone that far to say one loss would be a meltdown? Geez, that ridiculous. Actually during seasons when Bama had more L's I didnt come to the message boards cause I couldnt stomach the belly aching.

Now the team coming out of the tunnel with white helmets, a new jersey, or say crimson pants. You'd hear the internet explode. :rofl:

This Pro Combat uniform stuff is going to be the new "stadium grass" issue. It is going to pop up every year now before the season, some folks will freak out, then it will come to pass and most folks won't even realize what game they used them in. Unless of course, they take my advice, and throw on white helmets...

I'm in agreement that the new unis just really couldn't change much, because our uni's are so uncluttered and clean now. Teams like UF and Boise or LSU have always had additional stripes on their uniforms, so they could make little alterations and it might improve them. To me, the LSU uni change last year looked pretty classy, but the helmet was the biggest, most notable difference.

What I envision is a more slipstream cut to the material, which might give it a different appearance, with no changes really to numbers, other than maybe a slight, slight different script on the names and numbers. No stripes, no funny collars or colors. The helmet....I have no idea what they might do, other than a unique facemask style, or a change to the glossiness of the paint. Perhaps teh white stripe on the helmet doesn't go all the way down the back, or perhaps fades into an elephant tusk-style graphic.

Seeing some slight hint at houndstooth wouldn't hurt my feelings.

It won't be dramatic folks. It'll be tasteful. UA wouldn't have just blindly agreed to a change.

Hey Bama fans, I just wanted to let you know that I'm one of the guys who made the Pro Combat mock ups (The second one shown in this thread is mine). I'm sure most of you probably know that they are not real. These are just concept uniforms made on a Photoshop template that someone made on a design website. They are made for fun and posted on the design site but since this is the internet you know how things spread and before you know it, rumors start. I've had the same thing happen on Pitt and WVU forums with concepts I did of both those schools too. Just wanted to clear things up about these pics.

Here is another version of the Bama uniform with red helmet and houndstooth accent and a few other schools I worked up. Sorry for the long thread reply, take care.

*Again - None of these are uniforms that the schools will wear, just concepts for fun.

While I have been mostly ignoring this thread because I knew it wasn't real, and I'm not an advocate for changing the uniforms...I actually like the Bama mock up.

For most schools, change is giving up on the present in hopes of finding something better, something iconic and positive for the school. Bama has that already, so change is but a gamble.

If it must be some measure different, keep the change small and limited to something worth. No racing stripes or holographic 3-D elephant heads or Bedazzeled leather helmets. The Houndstooth accent around the collar hit the spot. No names on the jerseys is enough of a throw back, but I suspect that if they do go throw back, it will be the white helmets (remember, the guys who wore then are still out there influencing matters.)
