The University of Alabama, Boise State University, University of Florida, University of Miami (FL), The Ohio State University, Oregon State University, University of Pittsburgh, Texas Christian University, Virginia Tech and West Virginia University will wear the innovative designs for a minimum of one game on their schedules. The dates of those games will be announced at the unveiling of the uniforms Sept. 1 in New York.

The ones I saw last year didn't make any drastic changes to the teams' uniforms. Just some cool subtle designs that just give the jersey an overall more "modern" look. The material is supposedly lighter and more fitted. I think it'll go over well, especially with the players.

I have to admit the ones LSU wore against Arky (I believe) looked pretty sweet. What is the purpose for this? Do the proceeds go anywhere to help with anylthing? I just don't see what the big deal is for one game.

That being said if we lose that one game we sould take that uniform outside and burn it into ashes. LOL!!!!!

I think the Unis have progressed a good bit since, say 1995, when Nike took over, as it is! They already are more fitted, and already are made of higher quality, tear resistant material. If any of you can recall those days in the 70's and 80's when the uni would just rip apart and hang there. Those old Russell jerseys we wore were light years in the past compared to what is on the field today. Nike's efforts are simply more marketing, more sales related promotion.

Today college teams, tomorrow high school teams, etc, so on and so forth.

I imagine the numbers on the back are larger. Most uniforms carry a larger # on the back for TV purposes as opposed to the front. Correct me if I'm wrong but it doesn't look too different from the jersey worn in '05 for a few games featuring the houndstooth.

ok... let me be the first to start the moaning and belly-aching. :fight:

this color appears to be red and not very crimson.

the little red belt, or shall we say sash, in the front is a little flashy.

as stated earlier the numbers are a little too small for the size of the jersey.

are there 2 stripes down the leg or that silly sword looking thing miami and arkansas have?

and i think the uni would look tons better without the houndstooth.

so as a recap... if they did away with the belt and the houndstooth, fix the size of the numbers, put the stripes back on there and get the color right... i'd be totally on board with adopting these as the "new" uniforms.

I actually like the houndstooth. Doesn't look so good on the White away jersys but would look awsome onthe Crimson home jerseys.
Since the days of Coach Bryant.....houndstooth has just sort of become part of who we are. I think it's a nice touch.
Away Uni's would be better with Crimson pants w/ White stripe. IMO.
I'm not saying, i'm just saying.
