šŸˆ Bama opens -11.5 vs Arkansas...and a few thoughts on other spreads around the SEC.

I'm a little less "duh" about it now. I think I need a refresher at the beginning of every season - it's just the terminology that confuses me. You can pick win/loss only, or win and cover the spread. But what does it mean when my H is tossing around "I took the points" - I have no idea what he means. He means he thinks Bama will win but by less than 11? Or not? CONFUSING!:panic:

If he's saying he took Bama and the points he means we'll win by more than the spread/ 11.5

Consider this. Let's say the spread this week is Bama -11. If your husband took Bama -11, that means Alabama must win by 12 or more for him to win. Whatever the final score is, subtract 11 points from Alabama's score, and that's what the final score is for the betting world.

Bama 32
Ark 20

If that's the actual final score, Bama would still win 21-20 once you factor in the spread of -11. Which means Bama covered the spread, and your H would win the bet.
