Good for him for wanting more academics. Odd to me that his mom hasn't moved him to another part of the DFW metroplex to give him better academics. South Oak Cliff or the entire DISD isn't known for academics. Just assuming that if she's traveling to Miami often for work, she has a decent job.

Moving isn't cheap. If it's "just mom," then there's only one income in the family.
