I think the Bill O'Brien firing today will speed up things, but word around the league was that NFL owners/GM's were giving a longer leash for the first month of the season because of the lack of pre-season games. The O'Brien situation is interesting too because he was both coach and GM. That job (Texans HC) will have no shortage of interest from coaches.

He was a worse GM than coach, but I don't think he was too great of a coach, either. Quinn has to be gone by end of this year no matter what kind of leash he's been given, he's already jumped off the cliff, either the leash chokes him or the thud kills him, either way he needs to be gone.

O'Brien is also apparently very difficult to work with/for. That's usually a minor issue when you win (see: Nicholas Lou Saban, Jr.), but when you lose a lot, it is obviously not a great trait to have.
