🏈 Bama has the best defense going into this game.

Great stats! I def believe the defense has improved over the past 3 games... Feels like a combo of young guys growing up (Turner, Koolaid & Branch) and some guys getting back healthy and adding depth (Sanders, Ray). Studs being studs (Anderson & Mathis!)!

Missing Jobe & potentially JAD is concerning, but these other guys have gotten snaps and look good. The real concern is if one of the new cats gets injured and the backups' backup is now taking live bullets! Hopefully it won't come to that.

I really believe.....the D wasnt being effective....Nick stepped in to a MORE active role...at the games you could see him having more of a hands on approach.....when D came to sidelines....

Something definitely went on. I'd like to give props to Golding, but I just can't believe he up and did a complete 180 at the tail end of the year. Unless he just 7nleashed his guys and let them be athletes, then I could see how that would transform the D.

Georgia will hold Alabama to under 300 total yards and 20 points this time.
Josh, I hate being critical, but you are the proverbial Negative Nancy. I am concerned about Bama's lack of consistency this year, however, I have faith in Nick Saban to get it done. Every team that gave us fits this year was one that we should have beat handily. This team is very young and is highly susceptible to what CNS defines as "Rat Poison". I am overjoyed that we are going into this game as the underdog. I wish we did not have so many critical injuries, but again, "TRUST IN NICK".

Interesting take from a professional gambler on why the pups are favored and why he’d bet (a little) on them.
Yeah, about that. I don't know Chris. I have followed him for awhile now since he decided to launch his Sportslocksmith account/site. He's an interesting fellow in that he brings a lot of solid data to the game. He's an odd fellow because his conclusions from said data confuse me; "how's he drawing that conclusion?"

On game one his take was he couldn't "pass on Georgia as a favorite of anything less than a touchdown." He was also on the "in a game where Bama will struggle to reach 20, a 50 point total is high." (sic)

A lot of people give Stetson Bennett crap, but he has played us very well outside of a couple of interceptions. All it takes is some growth from him and Georgia damn well could beat us pretty good. I understand one or two mistakes is the difference between good and bad, but it could also be the difference in this game and last game. If he can hit Bowers, McConkey, Mitchell, and even Washington, it could be a tough night. I think he's definitely capable, but we will have to wait and see as they say.

I say all of that because I have a bad feeling in the back of my head, same one as before the SEC Championship, so I understand your thinking. But I just can't see our guys folding and letting Georgia dominate them as your prediction states. I can't see Evan Neal, Brian Robinson, William Anderson, Bryce Young, Jordan Battle, Phildarian Mathis, and those type guys getting dominated all in the same game. That's what it would take to beat us.

He has five touchdowns and five interceptions playing Alabama.

I know that stat, but he has shown he can move the ball on us as well. All I'm saying is that if he cuts down on a mistake or two, he could hurt us. A couple of those interceptions aren't anything of note. I'd say three of the five actually meant something or changed the outlook of the game. The Pick Six in the SEC Championship game did not change the game in our favor, we already had it in hand with a two touchdown lead and no signs of being slowed offensively. I'm just saying for all the shit he catches, he doesn't deserve it and technically moves the ball against us and has made some nice throws. He catches hell, but the defense doesn't catch any shit after the way they played us? Last year, their defense got smoked by us in the second half as well.

I still firmly believe the outcome of this game will hinge on the play of Bama’s injury replacements. If Owens can’t play who will replace him at right guard and will he mesh well with the other four guys? Latham has looked and played like a 5 Star so I’m not worried about him replacing Ekiyor. Though it will still mean the line as a whole might not form a cohesive group like they did against the pups in December.

Losing Metchie is by far the greatest loss for Bama as having him and Williams on the field at the same time allowed Bama to do a lot of things they can’t do with only Williams out there. Of course, at the same time it prevented defenses from doing a lot of the things they can do with only Williams out there. You can bet, Young will see a lot more blitzes because of it. Losing Metchie also limits how Bama can use Williams on third downs. Instead of him taking a corner and safety with him deep, he will have to fill Metchie’s third down role like he did against Cincinnati. The key to overcoming some of the limitations Bama will face because of not having Metchie is obviously the play of Brooks.

On the defensive side of the ball, losing Jobe for sure and perhaps Amour-Davis means McKinstry and Jackson will have to have another lights out game. It’s no secret Saban’s defense depend on his corners being able to live on island. If the safeties have to assist them consistently, it could make it tough on the rest of the defense.

I will say this … when Bama wins the NC Monday night, a whole lot of organizations need to rescind their awards for COY and give them all to Saban.
