| FTBL Auburn's offensive woes

I just spoke with a registered nurse and she told me that the "gash" would have to be at least 10" long. By the way, Ivan Misell(spelling really don't care if it's right) wouldn't know his butt from a hole in the ground. So we are to believe the "gods at espn" over all of the reports of the previous 2 1/2 weeks. Duder go back to your own forum and take your opinion with you.

If the Barn was on fire I wouldn't pour water on it to put it out, I might pour gas or even piss on it but definitely no water. RTR

The spread is overrated, especially that kind of spread with very little option and power. Passing is for girls and doesn't cut it in the SEC.

Tim Tebow says hello. And Chris Leak. And Jamarcus Russel. And Matt Flynn. And.....

I see what you're saying, but you left yourself open for that.

Reason? Kodi Burns > Todd. I don't see why they aren't playing him myself. :?

I think his point was that those teams have power running games to go with their passing. Auburn's spread is not based on power running. Florida lines up and smacks you in the mouth. LSU does the same. They both run to set up the pass. The difference in 2005 UF and 2006 NC UF was their running game.

Oh, I know what he and you are saying and I agree, a balanced attack is a necessity in football. But to say that you don't have to pass to win but just be able to pass? Pretty ridiculous, IMO.

uagrad93, I'm sure that was a typo on his part...he was cut by a facemask or cleat...but neither would require 80 stitches and if his injury would have been that serious it would have been all over the news, nationwide.

Nope, not a typo, link found below

"Junior Chris Todd has played most of the past two games. Sophomore Kodi Burns, hampered by an 80-stitch gash on his shin that he suffered in the opener against Louisiana-Monroe, is still learning the offense." http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/notebook?page=iform0804&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab4pos1 3rd paragraph from the bottom of the top section

Let's not allow this to become a sticking point in the conversation, Duder. Exact # of stitches have nothing to do with Kodi Burns and his playing time.

He is well over his injury and all the AuNecks know it as well as you do. There is turmoil on the cow fields and there has been all season.

One point of angst is the QB situation. Do the AuNecks play the slightly below run of the mill passer that is tagging along with the Snitch or do they play a scrambler who more often than not scrambles 15 yards backwards and gets hit?

Do they go with a high energy, get them excited scrambler who can't hit a barn with a Boeing 747 and really isn't that much of a scrambling QB either? Or, do they go with the golden boy of a coach who doesn't know how to coach in the big leagues of college football?

This has created racial tension. Even though both QB's pretty much suck, the white guy's feel like Kodi doesn't deserve to play and Todd is better. The black guy's feel like the only reason Kodi is not playing is because of the bigoted decision of a Snitch.

This, in turn, has created all kinds of situations on the AuNeck team. Situations that lead to 2 players being viciously attacked by large groups of their teammates.

One left the field on a stretcher and never set foot on the AuNeck campus again. The other had a leg broken and is out for a number of weeks.

Another player, the ChopBlock demon that AuNecks were so proud of and were calling a "hard fighting soldier" has quit the team due to the tension and bitterness on the team. He was in a fight every single day and finally got beat down sufficiently enough to make him quit.

God only knows what else has went down on the cow fields. Even the things we know about, such as the instances I listed above, PineBox has no clue about. LOL.

The lack of an offensive strategy or system that even resembles a lower tier SEC team is the least of the AuNeck's problems.

Here is how after practice interviews conducted by the AuNeck beat writers, otherwise known as massive suck-ups, have been going with PineBox lately:
-----------------------
AuNeck Writer: Mr. PineBox Sir, was there a fight on the field today?

PineBox: I don't know anything. I don't even know where I am at or what I am doing, how would I know about a fight on my own practice field? Next question.

AuNeck Writer: Yes sir, you are right. I am sorry for asking.

-------------------

AuNeck Writer: Did DeRon Furr leave the team, Mr. Pinebox sir?

PineBox: Who, what are you talking about? He was never on the team. He decided to leave and that is all I know. I don't know anything about anything. Was he an AuNeck Tiger?

AuNeck Writer: Sorry Mr. PineBox, that was a stupid question. I don't know why I even asked that.
-----------------------------------

So, let's get real. Trouble is upon the AuNeck Nation Family and they know it. The lack of a QB is the least of their problems.

I am one of the few tide fans that will dissent, regarding LSU beating Auburn.

I think that AU will be primed, pumped, and ready to go. Auburn has already been in some dogfights this year. Last week, for example. LSU, on the other hand, has two long practices behind them, and a week off. I know they are talented, but I DO NOT THINK THEY ARE VERY WELL COACHED. Yep, I said it. The team that won the NC last year was not the best team in the nation, to no surprise.

But a win over LSU does not a season make. Just like with Bama, a win over Clemson will not make the season. Remember, we started out 3-0 last year, then lost 2 in a row, then got on a roll again, only to fold up like a cheap suit at the end. I've not seen Auburn melt down like that in a long, long time.

I think Auburn is more consistent than LSU, more well coached, and it's in Jordan-Hare. I got the AU Tiggers on this one...

As several of us have said earlier this year, the barn just does not have the players on hand to run that type of offense. They had the personnel to run Borges's dismissed west coast offense but not the spread. They did not recruit especially well for receivers, and the group of receivers that they returned from a year ago is mediocre at best. A lot of their partisans were saying at the start of the season that they could win with either quarterback. They will be faced with easily the best defense they have seen so far this year, and I expect they'll have a tough time sustaining drives. This will put extra pressure on their excellent defensive unit.

Well I got the wrong leg and part that was hurt  Just shows how long I listen to my Aubrun friends when they talk...it all becomes the teacher from Charlie Brown after so long. :D

Some people call the AuNeck/Ms. State game a defensive dogfight. Others call it gross incompetence on both offensive sides of the ball.

I've looked at this game quite a bit. Granted, not as much as I have ours, but more so than UT hosting UF.

I still, this morning, see this as AU's first loss of the season. Emphasis, this morning.

Strange enough TP my opinion has started to swing to an LSU victory. That started yesterday afternoon.

I honestly see this turning into LSU shutting down Auburn. I know Auburn's D is good, but I see them being worn down early. I could be completely wrong, I'm an expert by no means. But that's just what I see coming. 21-0 LSU.

I don't think the Barns' offense could score against air much less against LSU. I don't think their D can be counted on to play all phases of the game. I see it 17-3 LSU.

I still see LSU by 10, and I'm highly confident about that also. I'm not sold on the Auburn defense, tired of hearing about it honestly. Stopping a offense that has been in the bottom half of the NCAA for 5 years is hardly enough to hang your hat on.

Tired of hearing a lot of things lately.

You did notice that several of your own fans chimed in on that topic also, correct?

And UAGrad--unless the admins ban me, I'll be going no where. We tolerate Bama fans on our forums and most of you here have been more than nice. So quite frankly, I'm not terribly concerned with whether you want me here or nice. Your post was classless
