My facebook feed is starting to fill with apathetic acceptance. My only wish is that when it's Coach Saban's time, he'll make sure there's a damn good replacement already to go.
Probably the best they could do after their primary targets turned them down. I don't think he will be a threat to bama. Hes going to have to win recruiting battles against Saban, Leach, Kiffin, Smart, etc. A very tall order. And he is coming in with not a lot to work with.
I think he's probably better in some areas, and not as good in others. All in all, has much more potential than Gus ever had though. He's a better program manager than Gus, IMO. One of his issues will be, can he recruit well in the south AND in the SEC? He's swimming with some sharks now. And Boise and auburn are different in more ways that we could ever list....
Rumor has it that he has to retain Chad Morris as part of the deal. Holy shit . Whose cock does Morris have his mouth on? The dude is NOT a good coach (0-16 in the SEC at Arkansas) and he sucks as an OC. Why would they start poor coach Harsin off like this?
If he keeps Morris, Steele or Garner, it will be clear he came with strings attached. If not, weāre in for a bit of a rougher go - but nothing we havenāt seen.

If they're keeping guys, it is for 1 of 2 reasons... They are too poor to cut them loose, and/or the Fat Wallets don't want to lose their access/control into the football building. I'll be shocked if Garner doesn't stay on (as Eleven alluded to earlier).
I had read on the Rant that this guy interviewed for the Hog job last year and expected 5 million to take the gig. Sounds like he is into the money deal and keeping the good ole boy coaching gang will be no problem. It will be interesting to see how he protected himself with his buyout clause.
Let's think about that for a minute. I'd offer the Auburn job is a resume killer. Where do their coaches end up after being fired from Auburn? Better jobs?
Terry Bowden, with his undefeated season, found himself at North Alabama. Tuberville ended up at Texas Tech. Chizik in the studio. Barfield went from Auburn to a position coach at Mississippi State. Shug went to UGA, so there's an outlier.
I was basing my opinion on the last sentence of my comment. No I was not talking about big time jobs like Bama, Clemson, and etc. All of the coaches you mentioned above did end end up in some capacity as a coach with the exception of chizik who made the choice to go to the studio. However, he was the DC at North Carolina for a few years.

Well, everyone isnāt in it for the love of the game - which is a decent movie if you can get past the stilted love story - three years at 5MM is a retirement for anyone.
Listening to Jox today and Cubelic said that he had heard that some of the stipulations that their other ā15ā top choices was that they had to keep anywhere from 3-5 of Gusā assistants. Sounds a lot like HS coaching to me.
Someone posted some screenshots on Twitter about Harsin and āhow he got along with Bronco administration.ā They basically said that no one wants him or wonāt someone please take him off of their hands!ā Sounds like he will fit well at the Barn.
