šŸˆ Auburn hires Bryan Harsin as head coach.

This is Allbarn awful. They beat State. Looked good to me. Maybe CNS will hire him for water boy or something
What looked good to you? I watched it pretty quickly this morning (FFW through breaks, etc.) and out of the 30 or so passes I saw Nix make I think five of them were when he had two feet on the ground, another five with one. The rest of the time he was jumping around like the backyard football guy he is. What was it...46% completion rate?

I realize they (AU) put up over 200 on the ground last night but that's pretty normal for State's defense: in five of their nine games they've given up @150+ per game.

It was awful game. Even announcers agreed.
Watched little. But it was terrible

THey must already have someone who wants the job. That is the only reason I can see them doing it right now.
As mentioned in this thread Mario has expressed interest in the job and that's not something new to the month of December. Yes, Hugh Freeze is bantered about as well. But, there are more names than these two on their radar. There isn't anything set in stone now. Don't discount a move to Kevin Steele here as well. I'm not saying either of these three scenarios is where they go. I don't know and at this point I'm more than positive they don't know either.

Not surprising considering he recently said a 6-4 season would be solid year. Particularly taking into account they lost to an AWFUL South Carolina team. And given the fact 2 of their wins were gift wrapped by the refs, could make an argument for the Kentucky game being gifted to them too.

My guess is they hire Hugh Freeze. Hes a good recruiter and actually knows how to develop quarterbacks and is an offensive mastermind. He could make them quite formidable.

Lots of programs are buying out coaches in lean years.

Hugh come on down...
Do you remember Woken Wolken's tweet in September proclaiming there wouldn't be any coaching changes this season? Full write up on USA Today as I recall.

I get people pointing to Freeze. I don't get people thinking that with the NCAA taking up residence in Auburn over Pearl they'd go with the guy.

He beat Bama in back to back season too!

What’s Mario Cristobal shown or done that makes them think he’s their savior? Florida Atlantic fired him. He was a good field coach and by all accounts a great recruiter at Bama. At Oregon - what has he done? Started off the season with a loss to Malzahn? They did win the Rose Bowl against 2nd place Wisconsin by 1 point. I don’t get it. Seems folks are grasping at straws to find the next great coach and relying on shaky track records and hype.

Which is the reason he's on their list.

Lane put up 48 on the Tide which is the reason he's on their list.
Steele, that's understandable (if we set aside his head coaching record.)
Sark is another name and I've mentioned Mario already.

Are you seeing the trend here?

The only other name I've heard, so far, is Neal Brown.

@TerryP this is the Barners we are talking about. The same ones that paid fig newton and maaaaany others. Oh and recently hired Pearl. Only thing that would prevent this is if Freeze went elsewhere or Sankey would not give the go ahead.

One not being talked about is Sark. They would see it as a way to derail this years team and look for the future. Hope it does not happen same with Freeze. Hope their hiring cycle is as publicly embarrassing as the Viles was.

Hey we had a good thing going with the Gus bus. We all need to say he did a good job.

My guess too. They have a lot of reasons for him. The escort service is only 30 minutes away in Columbus. More convenient.
