⚾ 🥎 auburn doing auburn things...

Square in the back from what I've been able to gather. I caught the tweet from @Brandon Van de Graaff He may have watched the game. I saw a few references around the 'net about someone getting beaned an inning or two later.

I don't believe it was #3. That would have been a bit obvious.

Love it!! I had an uncle that pitched in the Reds organization back in the early 70's right before the Big Red Machine heyday. He was throwing a no-no/ perfect game when a teammate of his was beaned intentionally after hitting his 2nd or 3rd HR of the game. The teammate was either George Foster or Ken Griffey, Sr. The manager ordered my uncle to plunk the first guy up in the Top of the 9th or risk being fined. My uncle had already fanned him 2-3 times and didn't want to risk a almost automatic call up with a perfect game. So he throws strike 1 by him. The manager called time after strike 2 come blowing by at 96 mph. He walked out and said if the next pitch didn't find the guys body, he was fined $100!! The 3rd pitch caught the guy straight in the ear hole of the headgear!! Brawl!!!

Yeah, that play occurred in the 7th? (I believe)? With 2 down in the 9th, the LSU P drilled an auburn hitter in the back. #3 then made the last out of the game. Pretty amazing that the LSU 1B wasn’t hurt (he was for a few seconds, but not seriously). You can go back and watch it on WatchESPN, pretty interesting to hear the announcers react after they realized what happened (Ben McDonald being one of them). Hopefully the ill feelings will carry over and #3 will catch one in the ribs himself before the series concludes. Also, hopefully the entire auburn team will get dysentery.
