🏈 AU at UT

Neither one of these teams looks very good. UT's offense is awful, Auburn's play calling is pretty suspect. Neither defense is all that impressive. Yet, I'm watching anyway.

AU's offense is smoke and mirrors. They have a few playmakers, but not many. Their defense is only as good as UT is bad on offense...we blow out either of these teams right now.

No argument here. Between these two teams and having watched the LSU/UGA game today, this conference has been kinda baffling so far this season. There seems to be an enormous drop-off after Bama and UF -- much greater than I first thought.

I'm not very impressed by either of these teams. Crompton is one of the worse quarterbacks that I have ever seen. AU's offense isn't that great either. AU's defense isn't bad, but they are playing that powerhouse offense of Tennessee.

I agree with Big Fan we would blow both of these teams out big right now.

I'm not ready to say that AU offense to is smoke & mirrors yet simply b/c UT's defense isn't chopped liver. Of course it doesn't help the fact that UT's O hasn't done diddly which is wearing out the Defense.

I guess time is on the only remedy to know for sure.

I am.

AU has gained yards against a tired UT defense that can't get off the field because of offensive ineptitude.

UT's defense has missed a ton of tackles, and played fundamentally poor.

After watching what I thought could be the most interesting game of the day, I came away very unimpressed. Todd still makes bad decisions when pressured (option toss/fumble, throwing across his body while on the run into traffic) but luckily for AU, he hasn't cost them the game yet.

Also, Tennessee's defense would be great if they didn't have to play 3/4 of the game. The missed tackles they had in the second half was ridiculous. Plain and simple.

After watching the AU/TN game....
AU's offense will struggle against a disciplined defense that can pressure the QB without blitzing and has an offense to give them a rest.
AU's pass defense is horrible. UT had WR's running free all night, but no QB to get them the ball. Of course, when he did they promptly dropped the ball. AU's run defense will not hold up against a power team that is a passing threat.

UT's offense is just plain bad.
UT's defense is solid, but no depth.

best part of that game....UT scores its last touchdown and with time expired Kiffin thinks he still has the opportunity to go for the 2 pt conversion. I almost pissed myself laughing so hard. Even the announcers almost laughed and made a joke about it. Priceless

I'm sure that is part of the philosophy of AU's game plan, that is to make the defense miss a ton of tackles & screw up fundamentally b/c they have been on the field way too long.

As long as an opposing offense can maintain drives & stay on the field a while that will give the D much needed rest & time to make adjustments.
