I'm curious if it took any of you any time to get used to the response time and the flow of the game thread today.

I noticed a few things that need to be tweaked, but from our end it seemed to move pretty smoothly.

What did you guys think?

I still had to refresh to see new posts. Occasionally it would say, "click here to see new posts" and I'd click but it would zoom me up to the top..

The "Click here to see new posts" should happen if you've just posted a comment. You were active in the thread so it doesn't surprise me if you did see that.
I'm assuming it taking you to the top meant it was taking you to a new page. I'm not sure; I suspect. If you noticed it keeps you on one page until you post then it jumps to a different page.

When it took you to the top of a page, was the first post a new one?

Good feedback, Jill. Thanks!

I use Firefox, dunno if that makes a difference or not.

PC or phone? It shouldn't make a difference though I was using Chrome all day yesterday with this...mostly from my phone.

I use firefox also. What I noticed was:
1. I also had to refresh the page, but I noticed that someone said they love the automatic refresh.
2. When I quoted a post it doubled the original post until I refreshed again.
3. It refreshed a lot quicker than it used to. Good job on that.
4. Once or twice when I refreshed it took me to page one again.

Overall I would say it was a big improvement. I am happy with it.

I was using firefox also. It would refresh with a notice to click here, but if a second page started it wouldn't notify or change my page until I refreshed it. I don't know if that is how it is supposed to work.. I tried it with Chrome and had the same result.
I liked how quick it responded to a refresh.
I especially like how easy it is to post pictures or video.

You guys have done a great job by designing the best forum layout

@TerryP sorry I could have try tapatalk, but didn't think about. :doh2: Will try it next week game.

Don't worry about it, Rickey. We'll know a lot more post-Florida.

You can load Tapatalk if you like. HOWEVER, if you only visit this message forum there's no reason to do so. IF you visit more than one, and as example one of them is on the vBulletin platform (like the we used to be,) you'll need it to read the other forum.

This site doesn't require Tapatalk—that's one of the primary reasons we made the upgrade on software. It has a responsive design. In other words, a query is sent when one visits, it determines what you are using to navigate the site (PC, phone, tablet, etc.,) and then responds to you with the appropriate design (size, font, etc.)

The majority of the major sites work in the same fashion (IE: ESPN.com.) In my opinion, those that don't are simply behind the times. As far as I know the only Bama sites that have responsive design are: RollBamaRoll (SBNation.com,) Bamaonline (247Sports.com,) Bamamag (Scout.com just switched recently,) and ours.

I digress...

FWIW, the arrow in this screen grab points to the notification that the page is automatically refreshing. The line moves to the left...sort of scrolling. You'll see it when you reply to posts, etc.
