💬 Athletes/Sports stars who went on to be actors.

Dewayne Johnson was a DE at the U, and I believe was on the 92 team that we curbstomped. Then started rasslin before acting.

He was. Ironically he lost his starting spot to Warren Sapp after he got injured I think his sophomore or junior year.

Michael Jordan kinda, he did Space Jam and that was a huge hit. Jim Brown did a bunch of movies (couple good ones too) and even Shaq did a bunch (of shitty) ones. Terry Crews could be considered one. Depends on how deep you wanna get into it, if we're going martial arts here Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee were were def. athletes and became movie stars. Hell, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais and Scott Adkins were champion kick boxers/martial artists.

LeBron James, the greatest basketball player that ever was, is now, arguably, the greatest male basketball player turned 2nd best actor of all time.

#1: Muhammad Ali, in the movie appropriately entitled, "The Greatest" By the sheer suggestion of the title would have to be the greatest. Unless you are one of those curmudgeons that believe Hollywood would string us on?

Now Tusk...me n you agree on a lot...but seriously....
No way he is the greatest ...most hyped...For sure...
But he falls behind Wilt"the stilt" Chamberlain and Micheal Jordan to start with.
Wilt....Averaged 20+ points and 20+ rebounds in 7 seasons
9-10 fieldgoal % seasons
Scored 100 points in a game
And had sex with 20 000 ( not proven..lol) women
10865

No wonder he died young. On a more serious note how he ever got beat out of the Oscar for this one I still shack my head.

LaDainian Tomlinson played Pastor Williams in the 2018 movie 'God Bless the Broken Road'.

"When LaDainian Tomlinson was approached about the possibility of making his acting debut in a motion pictured called, “God Bless the Broken Road,” it was apparent he had always been preparing for the role he'd been offered.

And, no, he would not be playing an All-Pro NFL running back.

A committed Christian whose mother was a preacher, Tomlinson was offered the part of Pastor Williams by a friend who was an executive producer on the project. Pastor Williams is the leader of a church in a Kentucky military town whose choir director loses her husband — and then her faith — as a result of the enduring war in Afghanistan. Her search for a way to move forward involves the church, the community and a visiting NASCAR racer essentially sent down to the minors by "Coach Gibbs" to defeat his own demons. (Unfortunately, Joe Gibbs never pops in for a cameo.)"
