If the start-n-stop nature of the TAMU saga has taught us anything its that moving conferences is both complicated and public. We know more about Big12 Regents' meeting schedules and Baylor's financial concerns than we wanted to, and we still don't have the end in sight. In a honestly, I don't believe for an instant that Slive has deal, much less Deals in Principle, up his sleeve ready to play.
No doubt, we want to be even (12/14/16, whatever) but who 14 will be is only conjecture. I've read Virginia Tech, but I've also read that such a move would become a discussion within the Virginia State House. Also, we could see some schedule concerns being aired regarding Bama and VT meeting in the SEC/ACC kick-off classic in two years. (Although, if someone believes that "effects" follow a "cause", the rumors that Pitt is headed to the ACC does bolster a thought that they are replacing some team that is leaving.) Seemingly the hottest topic in West Virginia is chance that the Mountaineers might go to the SEC. Coming up on an elections year, if that was done, every politician north of the county clerk would be taking credit.
Expansion is not something that will sneak up on anyone who is paying attention.
