If the rule remains as it is he'll have to sit a year.
From my understanding he quit attending classes at LSU just before he "opted out." The question seems to be whether he'll be academically eligible not whether or not the SEC allows immediate eligibility for a transfer.
Not to further derail the thread but in all fairness and transparency I have a very dear cousin who was my favorite golfing partner and is a staunch UA supporter who suffers from Parkinson’s. I actually got to hear Michael J Fox speak on 2 occasions at Parkinson’s benefits. I admire him greatly but I am an asshole and can’t resist using him to make analogies.
