Yeah, I have never seen him bash Alabama. A buddy of mine is good friends with him and his family and they all love Alabama. I can understand a journalist taking things out of contact in efforts of getting a headline. Lord knows I'd be up 24-7 having to explain myself if I was in the public light. I think of him a lot like Dee Hart, and I hope we finds what he's looking for and can work towards his goals.

I feel like it is such a cop out/dick move nowadays to create headlines for clickbait .. I know this has been around in journalism for forever, but I feel like it's so easy these days to piece statements apart into little tidbits that sound tantalizing .. The age of twitter is upon us. I have heard nothing but good things about Black and he should not have to explain himself over what some anonymous sports writer says ..

True. To add, there are two parts to this. The clickbait and the reader. Reader needs to stop overreacting to these clickbaits and perform some critical thinking...

I kind of agree. When is the last time we actually threw a 3 yd slant and hit a quick slot receiver in stride and make the defense make a tackle. We send them on a crossing route and make them sit down in front of a db or lead them to the sideline. Probably haven't had the qb we trust to make that pass on a regular basis. Seems like most of the quick passes to Coop last year he curled back for to give a target. Last one I actually remember vividly was the slant to Keith Brown vs Florida. Hit him in stride and he won the foot race.

I'll drop this little nugget:

While I do think the article may have been sensationalized a tad bit, I don't think it's far off either.

I saw him 2 years ago, and as we talked a little ball, he stated that he was healthy and complained about not getting more PT/reps, which would indicate a case of butthurt. I tried to encourage him to keep working hard and that it would eventually pay off for him.

A lot may have changed in his attitude since then, but it seems that it hasn't very much, by the looks of this article.

^^^^ This! While I have never spoken to him, I would tend to agree with attitude being an issue more so than injuries holding him back. After coaching HS ball for years, I would see firsthand some of these kids wearing their feelings on their shoulder when things didn't go their way. You got on to them about lack of effort, need to try harder, work on their technique, etc. and they seemed to take it personally.

My next door neighbor of a few years back had two very large sons who were starters on the OL for our high school team. He told me about a football parent who came to him because in the parent's opinion his son should have been playing more. My neighbor said he asked the man if he was encouraging his son to work hard in practice, hustle, and listen to the caches. He also asked him if by some chance there was dinner time conversation criticizing the coaches that could affect his son's attitude.

I don't know if attitude was a problem for Chris Black, but he really needed just to keep his mouth shut, and if he felt things were stacked against him just move on to his next stop without leaving bad feelings behind.

They used the slant quite liberally with McElroy to Julio...
