Like you said, either should destroy OSU easily, so it shouldn't matter. Until a better system is put in place (which will never happen), more often than not, the best team teams will not be playing in the title game.

I'm sorry but the LSU team that I've seen since the Auburn game will not blow out tOSU. That is why they will probably be matched up with tOSU in the NC game: LSU and VT are the only two teams ranked in the top six that OSU would have a shot at beating.

A lot of people (media and pollsters) lost face last season with the Florida debacle over tOSU.

They don't want to see a repeat of that should tOSU be pitted against Georgia, Oklahoma, or Southern Cal.

The mighty Big 10 reputation would take another hard shot if any three of the scenarios would transpire. But it won't happen.

One thing that strikes me as interesting as well is OSU vs LSU and how it relates to Miles and UM. Granted, the coaches don't have a say in what the media wants to write about but it sure will make some headlines.

Good point. The media has a silo full of fodder to feed off of.

Also, since we are rewarding the teams that play in the conference championship games, Kansas shouldn't be playing in the BCS. They didn't even make their conference championship.

If teams shouldn't be in the championship game because they didn't play in their conference championship, then the teams that were good enough to make the conference championship should be penalized for losing that game.

It may not be in the BCS rules, but if a team can't win their conference, then they shouldn't be allowed to play for the NC. As someone else said, it should be LSU and OU in the NC Game.

I believe OU went to the NC game after losing in their conference in 2003.

Yes, they did. And Nebraska went a year or so before that in the same situation as Georgia is in.

Just because it's happened before doesn't make it right.

That was when the computer rankings were what they went by though I believe. The whole argument for OU was because of their strength of schedule, quality wins, etc while USC had a cakewalk schedule. They beat #6 (or 9?) Auburn first game but Auburn ended up being average with a 7-5 or 6-6 record.

After that year, human polls were weighed higher I believe. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's it.
