šŸ“½ /šŸŽµ Anybody watched any good new shows or series lately?

I never paid it much attention, but after seeing a YouTube short that's apparently from the series, and after a little bit of research, I'm about to start the series Lioness. I know I'm 3 years late to this one, but I honestly had no Idea it was produced by Taylor Sheridan. And I've liked everything I've seen by him, so far; although I still haven't started Marshals, yet, either.
Here's another one of those weird things about actors, actresses...
Okay. The weird lies with me.

I had a bit of a hard time starting Lioness. I don't mean struggling through an episode. I mean starting. It just crossed my mind earlier today when I pulled up Scarpetta. (10 minutes in and this looks like it has potential.)

Nicole Kidman's nose job. I...just...it takes a...we...

Ya know?

Chernobyl was probably the best show I've ever seen.
I haven't watched that one yet. The best all time for me, mentioned many a time on the forum, is Band of Brothers.

There were rumors about a second season of The Residence. That's been canceled so now it's considered a mini-series. I enjoyed that one: murder/mystery with a comedic touch. (OITNB character, Suzanne "Crazy Eyes," stars as the lead detective. It was fun watching her.)

I know I mentioned The Beast in Me somewhere in this thread. It's a wild one. Fun 'thriller' type.

A week or so ago a real estate agent I do some work for recommended All Her Fault. I'll watch that one: she has good taste. She also said Black Rabbit was a decent watch.

Another I know I've mentioned: The Queens Gambit. It's about a chess player so some elementary knowledge of the game helps. I also enjoyed Lessons in Chemistry. The Thing about Pam was a good one. Lord of the Flies was mentioned: I haven't watched that one yet. Sharp Objects with Amy Adams was pretty good.

I highly recommend Chernobyl. It is probably the best show IMO.

Band of Brothers is fantastic as well. Watched it plenty of times growing up with my pops. The Pacific and John Adams was great as well.

I'll check some of these out once March Madness ends. Especially The Beast in Me. Love a good crime thriller.

Still pissed that Mind Hunters got canceled.

Trying to find any new decent ones.
Just caught this trailer a few minutes ago...

Jason Bateman, in my experience, rarely associates himself with a bad production. There are a few actors/actresses which I see in the credits and think, "that's probably good." Linda Cardellini (sp) is the same; lesser known.

DTF St. Louis is a murder mystery, dark comedy, by all appearances. It's probably a good watch.

While scrolling through Just Watch I noticed there is a new season of Jury Duty out; three episodes released. The newest; Jury Duty: Company Retreat.

If you've not seen the first one, I'd recommend. It's eight episodes featuring Ronald Gladden. Here's the trailer...

(I've watched this twice...and probably would again.)

The Accountant. (I sorta like the cup...)

The Jury was a good one to watch. I don't think I have watch The Accountant. I thought would be a series?

Yeah. That was a good one.

If you haven't explore some of the series out of the UK and Australia.
New Zealand also has some great TV show too.

don't think I have watch The Accountant.
OK.

The Accountant is a movie. Movies. There's two with Ben Affleck. Good movies.

The Accountant here is the one in season two...she's the image I posted.

And yes, I "grammatically" did it that way to see if I could confuse someone. It's me, being an ass and laughing at myself this morning.

IF you have not watched The Accountant? Do it today. Good film.

I have a thing for Anna Kendrick.

I don't think you needed to tell anyone that you are one! I knew and bet you some more on here too! :ROFLMAO:
Ricky. Here's a rant. I should make this into a thread. It's succinct. Hits. Accurate. Another couple of adjectives if you would like...

Something shifted in how we relate to comedy and the easy explanation is that everyone became too sensitive, or too politically correct, or too eager to be offended. "People just can’t take a joke anymore", everyone’s looking for a reason to be upset, the woke mob ruined comedy, etc
There’s definitely something to this, but I don't think the core issue is that everyone got too sensitive
I think the core issue is that comedy requires a shared sense of reality and we simply don’t have one anymore
For comedy to work broadly, you need broadly shared context. You need a population that more or less agrees on what’s true, what’s ridiculous, what’s taboo, what’s sacred, and so on
The comedian’s job is to dance along the edges of those agreements, pointing out the gaps between what we say and what we do, what we pretend and what’s real. But if there are no shared agreements to begin with, there are no edges to dance along
People are living in genuinely different information environments, consuming different media, following different accounts, absorbing different narratives about what’s happening in the world and what it means
We have sorted ourselves (or the algorithm has sorted us?) into micro-realities so efficiently that we no longer share enough common ground to laugh at the same things
I'm not really sure what we do about it
