🏈 Any Idea On Projected 2011 Lineup?

At this point it would be too early for any one, even ppl with inside knowledge to try and do that and Im sure if anyone were to ask Saban that he would bite their head off. I wouldn't be shocked to see Trey DePriest pass Nico, if not by the end of the summer, by the end of next season.

Edited to add...I'm also confused by how John Michael Boswell went from Freshman All-SEC to felling off the face of the earth. I'm rooting for him to take over for Carpenter next season.

u may be right but ive seen like 5 minutes total of footage of DePriest and thats against high school opponents. 2 years of being in a Nick Saban/Kirby Smart defense and playing well when he's had his shots, leads me to believe a healthy Nico will make a big impact next year. just my opinion tho.

I think DePreist is second string. Johnson has too much time in and has shown to have his crap together. I just don't see Nico losing to a true freshman. On the D Line I think that Jesse Williams will start somewhere, and if be are fortunate enough to land Clowney I could see him getting some significant playing time.

Jesse Williams def. looks impressive as hell on film. I dont know that you'd want to put him on the end but sharing time with Chapman at the Nose and playing beside him on the 4-man line is what i'd like to see.

I was going to mention Williams until I saw rammmer mention him. He'll have an impact, immediately, if they choose not to RS him. (I don't think they'll even consider it.)

On the OL I don't see any mention of Alfred McCullough or Tyler Love here so putting Aaron Douglas in the mix—starting at that—doesn't pass my logic test. Boswell and Steen are two to watch this spring as well. Not to replace starters mind you, but to see how many different positions they practice at this spring.

I'll be watching Chris Underwood this spring as well. He's one that needs to "make his move."

FWIW, in our rotation last seaon, Brandon Gibson was backing up Julio. He's another to keep an eye out on.

Bottom line, when it comes to our offense, the LT position is really my only concern.

After it being said of Tana Patrick that he was ready to play if needed in 2009, he seems to have been relegated to mop up and special teams work. Any chance he'll have a breakthrough into real PT?

I put Aaron Douglas in that spot based off his past SEC experience, Freshman All American and everything. But like I said in my post, that was just me making a guess.

Don't forget about Kouandjio too. I wouldn't be surprised to see him break into the starting lineup. Also, like someone else said, I expect Jesse Williams to make an immediate impact at that NT position a la Terrance Cody in '08.

We are past the point of having to play frosh on the OL: Andre as example. I know he's an RS, but still...
