Anyone think we may see McElroy take a seat some this Saturday to let the backup get some snaps ? That of course if we get a good point cushion..

If/when the game is in hand, I believe Saban will want to get the #2 guy some reps. I think it depends on how McElroy looks as well, Saban may want to get him as much live action as possible.

This actually raises a number of issues.

First, McElroy himself has not exactly seen a lot of live snaps on Saturdays and the times he has to make a live read against a live opponent the better.

Second, we do need to see Star or Darrah - or both get some live reps too.

Third, regardless of who we send into the game at QB, the game plan needs to include the QB actually making live audibles and actually throwing the ball. I know Richardson needs some carries too, but all our QBs need some experiences reading a secondary.

If we do throw the ball throughout the game, I hope it is with some reserves doing the chunking - for I do not want our starting QB throwing a TD pass with a five score lead in the fourth quarter and I hope we do not need a TD pass from our starting QB in a contested game in the fourth quarter either.

The backups will play most of the second half in my opinion.

I think we go into halftime with a 4 or 5 score lead.
