@TerryP my Mom uses my YTTV just for Bama games, has no interest in anything else.
Local and national weather for sure; with Bama football is going to be Mom's "diet" as well.

Fox Nation has a show called "Park'd" you can find early in the morning on Fox Business. I have that series scheduled and she's enjoyed it as well. History, National Geo, Smithsonian...she's gravitating towards that genre. Makes sense as a former teacher.

Google TV vs Roku, and the proprietary platforms of Samsung, LG, Vizio, etc.
And that had nothing to do with MY original purchase. I bought it purely for casting from a background window while I worked on something else. I still do that quite a bit. A Quite Place: Day One likely happens this weekend.

We got rid of Hulu because it got to be too expensive, unfulfilled promise of no commercials and it frequently buffered. Based on last year’s thread, yesterday I signed up for Sling’s Orange and Blue plans. We’ll see…

I have had YTTV for several years now. Early on I lived out in the country and could only get ADSL internet. I hooked a computer up and streamed anything I could using the web browser. Things have improved a lot with roku and other streaming devices. I have had no issues cutting the chord and using YTTV. There is a delay in streaming but a lot of it has to do with the device you use to stream. Interesting streaming to my phone or laptop and casting to the TV has less delay than using the roku.

Got a vSeeBox at Christmas. Should get all the sports, tv, and movie channels we could ever want. It was $299. Just that one time initial payment. Looking forward to trying it out this fall for all the football games.

Please report back with your findings.
That is all.
