Seems like a 3 year starter at Bama qualifies him for that claim.
And he graduated from Alabama. That's how I see it too. I get the NFL and record books and such having the "drafted from" disclaimer because there does need to be some line drawn in the sand... it can get too muddy otherwise. And I have zero issues with OU claiming him. But like you, 3 years at UA, graduated from UA, and left on pretty solid terms... as far as I'm concerned, he's a Bama guy. And fact remains, he is a former Bama QB, regardless of how he's recognized by the NFL in terms of his college career.
Johnathan Allen released by Washington, signed by Minnesota
The Minnesota Vikings have signed free agent and former Alabama defensive lineman Jonathan Allen. The two sides agreed to a three-year deal worth $60-million dollars.
