šŸˆ šŸˆ Alabama's Fall Camp~2021

While the question posed by Hurt was directly related to Billingsley the answer—as he always has spoken to the team through the media—wasn't directed purely at JH. There are a couple who need that "mental reset;" young and older alike.
So is this pointing to an issue that will cost bama this year? Leadership lacking to get a few on board? When we have seen these kind of things in the past it resulted in issues on the field that resulted in some L's.

It's just someone's observations. What's odd?
A full report about football with a one-off observation about an individual's vaccination status. And even more odd, in my opinion, that Coach Saban would consider punishing a guy for his "vaccination status", and even more odd, that a writer would actually publish that... Is odd to me. (If that was indeed published... Don't see a link or even know who it is... But appears to be reputable & knowledgable).

Can't wait to see what Trey Sanders looks like... Really impressive he's battled back up the depth chart.

Will Anderson is going to be something special the next 2 years.

Thanks for the scrimmage updates! RTR
This is what I have been looking for also. Trey showed some signs of being the stud he was advertised before the car accident. He can be a featured back if he is healthy in my view. Somewhat forgotten about or at least not talked about due to the injury.

It's the "dog days of summer fall." A few "attitude" things I could point out but I don't believe there's much of a point right now. As example, consider a true frosh having a hard time getting out of his high school mentality.

He WAS NOT punished for his vaccination status; the comment quoted had to do with that guys observations as to how much JH was on the field yesterday (with the 2's and 3's.)

Dang, you talking about Wheaton? I sure hope he gets with the program and can withstand the change. I really want to see him play. If in fact you're even talking about him.

JMO but #19 is halfazz and has been for his career. If you watch the NC game he takes more plays off than he plays. It appears he has some ability but it appears football just doesn't mean that much and we're talking his money year. Nick is at risk a little with this guy because others will see how this turns out and you don't want more slackers. The guy is a blinking light with 3 years into the program and you're still trying to get them to do his job?

What's interesting is that Latu may have the opposite approach of what you've described.... It feels like the staff has a ton of confidence in him after the position change & subsequent work to get up to speed. Obviously he's not going to have the kind of speed and explosiveness, but it's shaping up real nice for him to be on the field a ton next year.

Are the interceptions due to defense being that good or bad decisions on QB's part?
I would think the defense is pretty strong and with the movement of OL players being tried might make it even more of a challenge. I don't believe you want to read that the offense is killing the D or that the D is killing the O because that just might be that one or the other is pretty good while the other side of the ball isn't too good. A mix of success might be a better deal.

Nick isn't a bullshit artist and what I take is both offense and defense are doing some really good things but both need to clean it up and do good things most all the time.

Then again my glass is always only half full.

Really? You're spot on with your thoughts here.

@bamaledge, this isn't a crimson glasses type of comment but let's remember playmakers make plays—this defense has a chance to be special in their own right.

The offense needs reps with the core group established. It's not worked out that way with guys like Randolph missing scrimmages, others as well.

The Will Anderson thing is gonna get real.

The progression I saw last year from basically "doing his job", to then pressuring, to then sacking & creating havoc, all in 1 season... Man, if he continues to progress at this level there's almost no way he's not wrecking games for the next 2 seasons. He will continue to get bigger/stronger/faster and smarter, but has that fundamental mentality of being able to do his job before he takes unnecessary risks.

I'm trying to think of comparisons in the Saban era at UA, but nothing is coming to mind. He's way ahead of Tim Williams as a youngster and is way more well rounded. Upshaw was a game wrecker, but Anderson's frame is longer & more ideal. Sam with Ryan Anderson. Adrian Hubbard had some moments for sure, but WA's ceiling is so much higher. Rashaan Evans had the speed edge but isn't near as big/strong/dominant as Will is going to be.

And all of this is great news for Chris Allen, who's no slouch either. The 2 of them should be able to draw enough attention to hopefully free the other up to produce all season. I don't remember coming into a season with 2 legitimately proven pass rush / TFL guys healthy and ready to roll. And the depth behind them should be great too, but it's hard to imagine these 2 not taking most of the snaps!
