📝 🏈 '26 Class Recruiting Updates

See previous post. It was 2 years ago and the case caused a rule change to allow some gift cards. Initially, it caused a big stink here locally, I guess because TCHS pretty much sucks and rarely wins, and then had to forfeit one of them.
I read your response. I got up and made a cup of coffee. I forgot a read your response. I responded.

Morphine, Dilaudid, Oxycontin, Robaxin, FPOG...just to name a few.

I remember the story and rule changes when they occurred. I don't know why, but I'm 'linkin' it with the guy in Oxford and Ole Miss. No relation, whatsoever, other than the broad nature of what the original rule covered. "Look at what happened..." and it was combined with "look at what happened over there..."

Im curious. Are the rules same in Alabama as Miss, TN and Georgia?

I gotta think there's no chance it's the same as Georgia. Milton (defending state champ) got a transfer quarterback from St. Thomas Aquinas. Two years ago, Buford had Dylan Raiola come in when he was committed to Georgia. Carrollton has been doing the same. Folks transferring left and right in Georgia. GHSA is battling it now though minimizing transfers, but guys are still making money and being paid to transfer, and that's not even counting college NIL.

Rules are different all over the country. The National Federation of High Schools have rules, then each state has those that they follow but are allowed to have additional rules. The transfer rules are a freaking headache!! Used to be, if you transferred, you were ineligible for one calendar year. For immediate eligibility, it had to be a “bona fide” move. Well, that opened up Pandora’s box, because you had those that would lease an apartment or home in the new school zone in an attempt to skirt that rule. Old house had to be empty or occupied by a non family member. Guess who had to determine that? Yep! The coach and AD had to personally drive to the old residence and check. Throw in child custody and as Keith Jackson used to say “whoah Nelly!”

The more I think about this…it has the boogs fingerprints on it. Before the 2009 season, Julio and Ingram had to pay back a gift received from an aub booster/fan whatever. Wasn’t the story about “girls and a fishing trip” while at the beach?

Couldn't find the recruiting thread, so I'm just gonna post it here. I watched the Carrollton-Gainesville game tonight. Was watching to see Griffin and Matthews. They had a good game individually, but Carrollton has a running back named Cam woods that I wish Bama would take a look at. That guy ran his ass off all night, breaking tackles and literally dragging Griffin at one point in the game. As it got late in that game, Gainesville looked like they didn't want to tackle him anymore, that's how bad he was messing them up.

Very impressive performance by him.

ust like every football program in the nation, the No. 17 Alabama Crimson Tide is busy recruiting high school students to potentially play on their team in the future. On Friday, it was revealed that one of Kalen DeBoer’s top commitments set an insane Nebraska state record.

Pledge Jett Thomalla, who is a four-star quarterback commit to Alabama, broke the Nebraska state record for most touchdown passes in a high school career, according to Andy Villamarzo of On3Sports. Playing at Millard South, Thomalla has recorded 101 passing touchdowns. He accomplished the feat in his team’s 77-0 victory over Lincoln Southeast.

“Millard South (Neb.) star quarterback Jett Thomalla (Alabama commit) just continues to rewrite the Nebraska high school football record books. On Thursday night, in a 77-0 victory over Lincoln Southeast, Thomalla reset another record. The Alabama four-star commit quarterback set the Nebraska high school football state record for touchdown passes with 101 tosses for his prep career.”

Thomalla recorded his 101st career touchdown pass on a screen play to the running back. After tossing it to his teammate, the running back juked defenders and took it to the house.

After initially flipping from Iowa State, it appears Thomalla can’t wait to play for Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide. In a recent interview with On3 Sports, the high school senior quarterback claimed he already has his roommate picked out once he arrives aon3.com/…/future-alabama-quarterback-jett-thomalla-finds-motivation-in-ty-simpson-ready-for-senior-seasont Alabama.

“I’ve already got my roommates picked out,” Thomalla said about his future with Alabama. “Right when I committed, Mack Sutter texted me saying he was gonna join me, and we said we’d be roommates. I’m close with him, Owen (Cabell), too. We’ll all be in Tuscaloosa together next week, and all the commits are coming for the Tennessee game. That will be a lot of fun, too.”

While Thomalla prepares to visit the Crimson Tide for the October 18 game against the Tennessee Volunteers, Alabama has its eyes set on the Week 5 matchup against the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs.
