A friend sent me a snippet of something Rodney posted recently. There are two guys visiting this weekend named Jett. Rodney mentioned he'd been following recruiting for ___ years (close fifty now, probably) and it's the first time he can remember having anyone named Jett on campus: now two. A QB and a DB.

Relation? Don't know. Son? Doubt that. This kid is from LA, Bama's Darby is from Huntsville.

I remember this kid was committed to State a few months ago and flipped to LSU. Late bloomer, of sorts.

Pretty sure I saw somewhere that Jett Washington is Kobe Bryant’s nephew - or something like that.

Could be mixing that up in my head, but I think that’s right.

Xavier Griffen - GA boy. CKD seems like he has meshed just fine in recruiting southern kids.

And he definitely has great in-roads with those Bishop Gorman kids.

Here's something I'd like to know. It's a story without really being a story.

I'm thinking it's high time for UA to renovate / re-store / replace(?) Hotel Capstone.

I get why they are housing recruits at "The Alamite." It's a really nice place and great location for visitors considering the entertainment/food within blocks.

But, for some reason...in my head the other side of Queen City Blvd. is outside of the "college district."

Why isn't the Hotel Capstone on par with the improvements across the street?

Hotel capstone is a shit hole!!! I stayed at the capstone for the weekend of the Missouri game. I paid $1200 a night (2nights) for the convenience, which was great!!! However, the rooms are absolute shit holes!!!! Mold, peeling paint, old outdated fixtures, stains and an “off” smell…

If the management company has a deal struck with the Ath. Dept. that's similar to what they had structured with UA/Hotel Capstone...okay. (It's a tad interesting Saban is an investing partner with the Alamite group.)

Pretty cool that Tua's family is still pretty involved with the program even today, years after Tua left and now with Saban retired. Obviously, relationships are strong in their culture and they are showing how much UA meant to them. They still love Saban too... Galu participated in his Nick's Kids golf tournament last month. But I like that the bridge has extended to DeBoer and this new staff as well.
