Bama fan chooses not to call LSU fan after game.
Bama fan chooses not to go to LSU fan's house.
Bama fan choses not to get gun when fight begins.
Bama fan uses gun on the one person threatening him with a gun.

Other than joining in on an argument with a guy who calls his house, and getting into a fight with a guy who came to his house apparently looking for trouble, the guy's decisions seemed to be not too far from what could be expected from most home owners.
LSU fan roots for LSU.

LSU fan drives (drunk) to Bama fan's house and apparently gets his butt kicked.
LSU fan begins a shotgun fight while not bringing a shotgun and is killed.

There is very little in the way of hand held weapons that match a 12 gauge shotgun with #6 highbrass for sheer destructive power.
