Not facing a ranked opponent for a while will likely work to Nick Saban's advantage
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — It’s one of those times when everyone can stop looking at the calendar and counting down the days.
It’s like spring is in the air up North, Christmas is around the corner in the East and monsoon season is over in the desert.
It’s game week in college football, one of the most celebrated times around the nation, but especially in the South, and eagerly awaited.
By this point just about every aspect of the 2018 season has been examined in nearly every way imaginable, or to quote Arlo Guthrie in the song “Alice’s Restaurant,” it’s been “injected inspected, detected, infected, neglected and selected,” non-stop for seven months.
Well, at least it has in Alabama. They have some other things to worry about elsewhere.
With games finally at hand it’ll probably take 10 minutes for half of everything predicted to be irrelevant and that includes just about the only thing that is set, the schedule.
On face value Alabama’s regular season appears to be very favorable for the Crimson Tide.
It almost breaks down into three parts.
Alabama’s schedule may be exactly what this Crimson Tide team needs - Bama Central
