Spring break for a college student presents opportunities that canāt be passed up.
Alabama fifth-year senior Barrett Jones couldnāt pass up leading a mission trip to Nicaragua. Compared to his last two spring breaks ā both to impoverished Haiti ā last weekās six-day visit to Jinotega was a walk in the park.
āReally, it was a different kind of trip,ā said Alabamaās senior offensive lineman who won the Outland Trophy at left tackle last season, but has moved to center this spring.
āUsually I guess our trips are a little more work centered. This one was more about sharing my faith ā for everyone on the trip to share their faith. I got a chance to go into classrooms and really explain to kids from classroom to classroom ā we divided up into small groups, because there were a lot of classrooms ā what we believed and why we believed it. It was awesome. It really was.ā
