In this situation I wouldn't follow Alabama football any longer after Saturday.

Instead of going after Burton here, why are people pointing to the people who allowed it to happen? Not only allowed, but encouraged throughout the week?

If my daughter jumped on the field and told me she got hit I'd ask her why the hell she went on the field. I don't make excuses, but apparently some folks do. Pretty certain you and I have talked about rushing the field and you do not like or agree with it, so she holds no responsibility here?

I'm also going to say that you speak as if 'no man should ever hit a woman', well that also implies girls act like women and in today's world that is just as rare as a man being a gentleman. You and your wife ever storm the field or post pictures in a lack of clothes flipping off cameras and such? That's not a lady in my eyes. Same here … in fact, I agree a whole lot with both of you. 99.99% of the time I agree that a man shouldn’t hit a woman. In this instance, I can’t tell from the video if he actually hit her. To me it looks like he pushed her cell/camera away from his face as she passed beside him. Did I miss something? Another video perhaps? I admit my eyes aren’t as good as they used to be. Plus, for all we know the person in question identifies as a man. In that case, it’s all moot!

There’s a difference between slapping a phone and accidentally hitting somebody and actually smacking somebody. If he intentionally smacked her then I’d call for him to be sat or kicked off the team, but to me if she was hit it was accidental and there’ll probably be some punishment.

My mom would agree with hitting someone back in self defense. Man or woman, it doesn't matter. If another person lays their hands on you and you didn't invite it, then what you do afterward is self defense. My mother would wholeheartedly agree with that. I know because we've talked about stuff like that in the past.....on numerous occasions.

I would like to think out of the hundred, if not thousands of girls that crossed his face from the time they rushed the field he didn't intentionally slap/nudge/push this one girl for no reason at all.

The parents of Alabama players in the stands were taking a lot of hell—to the point Anderson's mom has commented publicly on their abusive behavior

All of us loooong time Bama fans are not surprised with any behavior like this from the Viles..... They are a pathetic bunch. Always have been which is why I have more disdain for that bunch than any other team we have ever played. The reason I will never root for the Viles in any game....

I haven't really posted in this yet, but after watching the very blurry video several times I'm not exactly sure if he smacks her. More like he kinda heisman's her out of his way than anything. Not sure I'd call that much of anything, also..we all have to remember in a vaccum we could make a great decision to not touch anyone and just keep walking away. However, that was not a vaccum, that was 10,000 fans running onto the field, pushing and shoving people out of the way. It was honestly chaos, need to get a better handle on this by the SEC to avoid these issues. Burton has every right to be on the field at that time, that fan, does not. You step into someone's house without permission, you might get shot..kinda the risk you run there.

I know there are exceptions to everything but I was raised to not hit a female. You do not have to take abuse but you do not strike her.

Even if a him try and walk away but yes it is more ok if it is a him. Double standard sure....

I have been in that hidious stadium one time and they are a very very rude bunch. That wouldhave been during the fran years. Yes Bama lost.
