Yes, I'm going to wax nostalgic for a moment here.
I'm sure all of you remember that January afternoon in 2010 where the staff, team, and fans gathered in Bryant Denny to celebrated the Tide's 13th national championship. We heard things that have become commonplace in conversations and press conferences about Alabama football: responsibility, accountability, team, trust and respect for each other, and perhaps most importantly accomplishing what they set out to do.
Amongst all the fan fare of that day it was Saban's closing remarks that resonated the loudest.
"And I want everyone to know, this is not the end, this is the beginning."
That's held true. We saw the core of that group repeat what they had accomplished in 2009 this past January bringing another national championship to Tuscaloosa. However, there is one thing that has seemingly gone unnoticed this past spring and summer.
This is actually the end of the beginning.
