I've seen quite a few speculate this might mean a return to white helmets. I seem to remember they did something like this last year during the draft. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

I just want them to bring back the white helmets in my lifetime. I think they look sharp as hell and it's nice to get a change up every now and then. Tradition is great but variety is also great.

No clue how accurate it is but this is what I had seen:

1949: White helmets with crimson stripe

1955: Whit helmets, no stripes

1958: White helmets with crimson stripe

1961: crimson and white helmets both used

And then on to all the others in the 60s… According to that, they were kind of going back and forth between crimson and white in the 40s and 50s.

Granted its an old ass angelfire link lol http://www.angelfire.com/al/bamacrimsontide/uniforms.html

Bart Starr era Alabama helmets:

They started wearing white in like the 40s... and wore them A LOT when Bear Bryant was there...

So...long tim e since then.....and 60s....and Perk brought them back....sucked then... at one time....bama wore 2 colored hemets during game...
I believe it was said BEAR wanted his QB to be able to pick out receivers easier...
Was banned immediately after... ( just something I remember from a long time ago)
Like i said...looked like Nebraska then...and teams played like nebraka now...
Bama crimson helmets...are just Bama football...... keep white in storage

So is houndstooth but they brought that back for a nod to the past. A white helmet game, on the road, would be a nice nod to the past as well.

True Alabama fans will know the use of white helmets at Alabama. However, crimson helmets are part of our brand. It's how people recognize Alabama. If Alabama showed up in white helmets, nobody would know who it is.
