šŸˆ Alabama vs. Clemson Score?

GA coaches made some obvious adjustments. I think we all hope our staff does as well.
Kirby said the biggest adjustment was they played harder and with more focus and physicality. So will Bama.
The biggest adjustment UGA was left with in the SECCG was not having to defend Pettway. It was a crucial cog in the way that Auburn offense works.

One game does not define a season, or a team. Yet, one game can really twist outlooks when looking to the future.

Or, we have a sizable group of fans who listen--too much--to opinions voiced on TV when those opinions are scripted (and that's setting aside the angest felt by a lot of those opining due to the run Alabama has been on for years now.)

FTR, I don't listen to or watch college football "experts" on TV or radio. And when I say that, I mean EVER. That being said, I am also far from predicting an Alabama loss Monday.

I did not intently watch the SECCG, but it appeared to me that UGA ran to the edges a lot more than they did in the first game. They probably watched Alabama's opening drive of the second half against AU. It's frustrating when UGA's offensive staff can see that while ours abandoned that offensive attack for unknown reasons.

There's a very rigid dichotomy when it comes to who I listen to when it comes to football games. In the previews and specials I do watch them. Often, more than once.

However, when it comes to the actual games? I very, very rarely pay attention to what the announcers are saying. UNLESS there's something really off the wall--for some reason their comments just jump out to me. A few times during games I'll rewind just to make sure I heard a comment correctly.

There was a huge difference in the rushing attack with UGA that second game. What was it...around +200 versus the first game? I'll tell ya this. I've entertained the thought, more than once, that the SECCG was just Auburn being Auburn. The expectation was they'd roll through UGA on their way to the playoffs. And we know what happens with expectations being high on the Plains. It's never disappointing to me.

The barn was beat up after our game. No one plays well the week after they play us. Along with having no healthy RB's.
Agreed.

Is it a coincidence we see people saying this but don't see people say the same thing about the game Bama had with Mississippi State?

Clemson was not significantly better than Auburn. If Clemson played Auburn in Jordan Hare in the second half of the season Auburn wins.
Clemson sacked the Barn QB over and over ANNNNNNNNND Bama never did that and that was the difference Over and Over. It's not like Clemson was a Great when they played the barn. Perhaps the new outside LB'er that were injured vs FSU can make a difference in this game by getting in the face of the QB.

Bama did just as well against the Auburn defense as Clemson did--and we're talking two different teams with Auburn when we look at September and November.

I believe we can not make a judgement based on what happened with Clemson vs Auburn and then compare it to what happened with Bama vs Auburn. It was literally two different Auburn teams.

Wow a lot of you on here on this BAMA sacred site predicting Clemsum beating the Tide. I just don't get it. We had a bad day after playing MSU and it was an emotional rival game. This game is going to be more like the FSU beatdown. Just make sure you have the popcorn ready with a side of crow. 24-7 the Good guys in a precision beatdown. Jalen has a screenshot of the score last year on his phone. I am rolling with the Tide.

Bama wins 24-17 or 27-20 I believe. I think we will come out agressive with bootleg or zone read passes on first downs to put us in 2nd and short plays. I see more of a true commitment to the run game to wear down Clemson.

Here's something that I imagine a lot will find shocking. How often have you seen "Bama needed to run the ball more" when people talk about the game last season?

This isn't my research. It's something Rodney did over on TI that was passed along to me yesterday.

In the first and second downs of the game Alabama ran the ball 21 times and passed six times. The result was a lot of 3rd and long situations versus 3rd and manageable.

I think I got this right...

1st downs (including drive starts), Alabama ran it 21 times & only passed 6.

1st down runs netted 20, 4, 25 (Bo TD), 2, -1, -2, 25 (Stewart), 3, 37 (Bo TD), 2, 1, 3, 5, 2, 3, 6, -1, 0, 3, 3, 30 (Hurts scramble TD).

The only way clemson got off 99 plays was the speed in which we continued to run our offense. Those stats didn't matter too much in the first half with Bo gashing the tiger's defense and Bama staying ahead on the scoreboard. After he went out we continued to hurry up and punt with no thought to prior success on the ground against their defense. Personally, the biggest disappointment about our run game has been the idea that unless we speed up the pace we struggle at the LOS. Real power football don't play that game.

I will gladly apologize if I'm wrong, but I just don't see us winning this game. I have a hard time believing Daboll is going to change his predictable play calling, that Hurts is going to spread the ball around or that our defense isn't going to get stuck on the field due to its inability to stop Clemson on 3rd down. Additionally, I can foresee 3-4 defensive pass interference calls against our DBs and at least 2-3 big pass plays for Clemson.

I posted a thread containing an article that was on ESPN. Coaches have figured out Daboll's play calling and apparently Pruitt is just as predictable. I love BAMA. I LOVE BAMA and while we may have the players to beat Clemson, I don't think we have the best offensive scheme to utilize the talent we have. I will say it again, Jalen excelled in Kiffin's scheme because he created mismatches and allowed Hurts to create when things went wrong. This bland/uncreative offensive scheme and subpar offensive line play has been BAMA's albatross.

Finally, their front 7 is future NFL 1st round quality. We will have to use some unbalanced line formations and even bring in an extra offensive lineman or TE to protect Jalen and open running lanes for our RBs. We've all seen what Harris can do with just a hint of daylight and the boom Bo brings if he can square his shoulders. Defensively, Buggs needs to start over Hand and Davis needs to be a man on a mission. Far too many times he engages and stands straight up. While Davis has the weight and size to create a stalemate at the point of attack, Hand is usually getting pushed 2-3 yards out of position and giving up containment on the edge. And please stop playing so much man defense on obvious passing downs. Our DBs rarely turn to locate the ball and this is where the pass interference calls will be generated. Drop a LB, protect the middle of the field, keep the receiver in front of you and play some zone coverage. The failure to do this killed us last year on their final drive. Killed us! Just one batted ball or incomplete pass would have changed the entire dynamics of their final drive. Possibly the outcome of the game.
