šŸ“” Alabama Vice President for Student Life Myron Pope was arrested Thursday on charges of soliciting prostitution.

Former UA player... not real well liked my many in the student body (which isn't ideal in his [about to be former] position).

I find this whole thing intriguing.

When CPG was arrested for DUI that news was published within hours of his arrest. It was several hours before the University released any statement.

Here we see the news break late Friday and within a matter of minutes UA releases a statement about his resignation.

If Dr. Bell doesn't release the statement notifying the UA community that he's resigned what reaction do you think we'd have seen from the fan base? Would this have been met the same way we saw with the Golding news? Would fans have been calling for him to be fired as well?

Does the University look at "pay for lay" differently than DUI? If so, why? Is this a case where "God's laws" are looked at differently than "Caesar's?"

I believe every situation has some unique dynamics and none of us have access to all the information that the university and the people involved have. The optics of it to us may look like a double standard or valuing one thing more than another which absolutely does happen in life but we do not have the full picture nor will we.

It may not be the case in this situation but in this day and time it’s not ā€œWHATā€ was done but ā€œWHOā€ did it.

I did find it interesting that they basically were able to keep it quiet until the Friday evening news dump. I'm just guessing here, but I'm betting he bonded out from the station and never went to the jail... cause if he had, I feel pretty certain someone would have noticed on the jail database. That thing is monitored 24/7 365 by folks looking to break news. It's possible they didn't, but I'd be shocked. He's pretty well known around here.

It depends on when he was arrested on Thursday. Was it 1 a.m. or 10 p.m.? The news reports include his resignation, not just his arrest. So, he had to have time to resign.

Not completely sure what you mean... but I'm saying it seems like UA knew and sat on it (likely from a PR standpoint and partly to get their ducks in a row) until word got out, then they immediately released a statement with his resignation. Sounds like this was a TPD sting though, so his name would have been coming out soon via a TPD press release anyway... I just think UA wanted it out on Friday night.
