šŸˆ Alabama spent $3.4 million to attend the national championship in Miami

Despite the large travel and bonus costs, Alabama still figures to come out ahead thanks to SEC bowl money. AL.com reports that Alabama will receive $1.925 million for its appearance in the national championship as well $2.04 million as part of the overall BCS payout. Florida received $1.825 million and the remaining $30.65 million of BCS bowl revenue is divided among the 15 member schools.

So, end the end, we're getting right at 4 million for the trip...minus expenses listed by this article a profit of 500K for a seven day trip.

Now, if you want to put that in perspective, consider...

The entire athletic department at Tennessee...

And to make the point even more clear...

It's zero because they ended up pulling around 4 million from their cash reserves so they wouldn't show a loss.

THIS- is what passes for "sports news" on yahoo these days.

They Never have anything to say about the TIDE.

That isn't "controversial".

If it was'nt a female "writing" this.

I'd say they had a "Woody" out for us.

But I quess- considering the times we live in

THAT is still possible- female or not .........................

It really wasn't that bad. They did point out the revenue side as well. Besides, who cares?

A lot of people. Articles on Bama and Saban draw attention by the droves from college football fans across the nation. Anyone who tells you they don't care? A good majority of them are lying.

Don't get me wrong here. A lot of that attention is fueled by fan loyalty—some by pure hatred of what the program has accomplished.

However, no matter the reason, they do care.

I posted this (as many of the post I pick out)

from Suppos-sed "sports media- writers"

because of this:

"Alabama spent $3.4 million to attend the national championship in Miami "

The TITLE.

The Vast majority of the Gomers- write this kinda stuff

with knowledge- that you average fan won't read ANYTHING (or REMEMBER)

ANYTHING- But the Title. And THATS on purpose.

In my opinion- ANYTIME you have to read ALL an article

for the Title NOT to look "slanted"

There's a reason for that.

Color me Jadded.

But I have lost all trust- in 90% of "the media"

Sports & other.

Having been in the industry for years, and knowing a good many sports writers, it's not those writers who should get the brunt of anyone's anxiety due to article titles. It's the editors.

Now, that said...

With the cutbacks a few months ago and the newspapers associated with AL.com they've recently admitted they've taken the editorial roles out of their online content. So, whether it be the title or the content, you can lay it all at the writers feet.
